Fiddle Fest regular registration closes May 15 at midnite! Go to
www.grandlakefestivals.com to register online for this weekend in
Grove, OK.
People come from all over for this Festival June 5, 6, 7. Besides the
fiddle, clogging, and pickin' contests in the Grove Civic Center,
there are two evenings of lakeside barbecue dinners, lots of music and
fun contests at the host campground Snider's Camp, right on Grand Lake
of the Cherokees. Everyone relaxes at Snider's, perfect for jamming
or just listening. It's a great time to enjoy being with friends and
family, to be inspired by the many musicians and acoustic groups that
participate. Bring your instruments!
If you play fiddle, guitar, mandolin, dobro, or banjo, this is a
weekend of great fun for only a $5 entry fee. You can register or buy
tickets after May 15 but it costs more.
A schedule is on the web at www.grandlakefestivals.com Part of the
American Heritage Music Festival, the fiddle contest is nationally
certified by Weiser, and there is a nationally sanctioned clogging
contest on another stage. Each has $1000 grand prize. Call
800-526-2523 for more info (cloggers call Lou Maiuri, 304-872-5803).
