heritage, something we all support.

for great fiddle coaching and great jamming. It's also a great
vacation experience, right in the center of the country in the
foothills of the Ozarks on beautiful Grand Lake, Grove, OK.
Friday, Aug. 29 is a kickoff party at Snider's Camp, with a barbecue
dinner and lots of jamming. Meet friends, practice up for a great
weekend of progress and playing. This is a great time to try out your
new tunes or perform with your group. Sat. evening is also lakeside
at Snider's Camp for a fish fry, entertainment, an amateur fiddle
contest, more. Free to the public!
Aug. 30 and 31, the Grove Civic Center hosts workshops and master
classes. All levels and ages are included--those who play by note or
by ear, advanced players and adult or young beginners. It's an
inspiring weekend filled with tips for better playing and help with
individual problems or questions. Fiddler/violinist Jana Jae is
joined by 20 Master fiddlers and instructors who will perform and
teach in small groups. Junior Marriott, Grand Champion contest winner
2006 and 2007, Rick Morton, bluegrass and jazz fiddler, acclaimed
stylist Jimmy Gyles, are just a few of the coaches. All acoustic
musicians are welcome for jamming and stage opportunities. In
addition to the fiddle workshops, there will be a mandolin workshop by
Russ Weeks, a flatpicking workshop by Wayne Graham, a Texas contest
style back-up guitar workshop by Junior Marriott, and a special twin
fiddle workshop Saturday at noon. Lots of new ideas and techniques
for competing in contests, performing, or just to enjoy. This is a
