It was with great sadness that a friend told me of Larry Cortner's
battle with cancer and death in London on March 26th. It has been
years since we were last in touch, but I knew Larry as a friend, an
amazing musician, and as a warm and caring teacher to many students
during the three-plus decades he taught organ at the University of
Western Ontario.

This evening I asked his long-time partner Derik for a word on how
Larry could best be remembered, and after a pause, Derik said, "Larry
was very proud of his students." That tells a lot--I know he will be
missed greatly.
