Welcome to the Yahoo! Group for Parlophone Records. This label is one of the most successful pop and rock labels of all time in Britain and overseas.

Originally formed in 1896 by Carl Lindstrom in Germany, it was established in the UK in 1923 mainly for dance band and jazz records and it was then sold to EMI in the 1930's and became a very prolific label with its branching out into comedy and spoken word records.

In the 1960's it took out a permanent mortgage on the British Invasion genre signing up The Beatles, Cilla Black, The Hollies, as well as light entertainment from The Goons, Mrs. Mills, Flanders & Swann, and Bernard Cribbins. Two of Australia's most lauded rock acts The Easybeats and The Missing Links were also on this label (the latter releasing one single before moving to Philips).

During the 70's Parlophone went into hibernation with only Paul McCartney & Wings on it until 1980 when the label was revived for a new floodgate of British talent like Dexy's Midnight Runners, Pet Shop Boys, Marc Almond and later on Queen, Roxette, Morrissey, EMF, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Blur, Radiohead, and most recently Coldplay, Sham 69 and Kylie Minogue.
