Hello everybody,

For some strange reason I only found this group this morning
although I consider myself one of *the* (at least German) Patti
Austin fans!
:-)

I know Eberhard from other groups ("hello!"), we even went to a
concert together here in Cologne in 2000, so he will probably object
that I'm the one and only German fan :-)

Well anyway, I went to the concert last night in Dortmund, and it
was absolutely wonderful!!!!!
Most important thing was that the weather remained alright right
until the encore, so we all stayed dry. it was an open air concert,
the setting was beautiful, the stage and the audience were separated
by a lake, with swans and ducks on it, so it was really really nice,
especially when it got dark and the stage was lit by red and blue
lights which were reflected in the lake.
The sound was great, too, and the combination of big band and string
ensemble was very enjoyable, and very fitting to a lot of the songs
(e.g. the Gershwin's movie songs, like funny face and swanee)

I know, apart from Eberhard, you all don't know me at all, but since
most of you all probably love her just as much as I do, you can
imagine how excited I was!!!
She was great and very open although it was like 20 minutes before
the concert!


Well,a short introduction of myself:

I'm ulrike (uli), I'm 40 years old and live in Cologne, Germany.
I used to be a die-hard Barbra Streisand fan (she also used to be my
absolute idol for my own singing - I sing on a semi-professional
basis) but was replaced by: Patti (and Ella Fitzgerald)!
I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and music is my passion. (I think
these are the most important facts you need to know)

I am very happy that I found this group and hope to hear lots about
Patti from all of you!
