Uli, I understand but I will respond if you write. I think it has to
do with the fact that we seldom hear of Patti in the news and of
concerts locally. At least the pattiaustin.com site is up and
running. And I do appreciate the energy you bring.
I wanted to ask you something that a dear friend asked me. Did Patti
and Quincy Jones have a parting of the ways after she left Qwest?

hello again,
didn't have a lot of time to responde properly of late.
it's really a bit sad that there's so little activity on this list.
hopefully this will be better again!!!
to answer your question:
with street of dreams I always have the feeling that it's not very
homogenous. like the selection of songs. they don't seem to fit
together very well.
I like a lot of the songs on it, especially "till there was
you", "for once in my life" and "igy".
but when I listen to the song "street of dreams" the break into
swing seems to be wrong, like out of nowhere. strange.
and her version of "calling you" I don't fancy too much either. to
me, the ultimate version is still the one by jevetta steel.
whenever I listen to street of dreams I mostly skip to the three
songs that I really like - which doesn't happen so often with other
patti cds.
about the concerts she did in the states: I think they were with a
different band, and I'm not so sure she did gershwin songs as well,
but I haven't seen anything yet. will try and check this out.
