Phideaux,
Love the new song, great stuff, I'm also eagerly looking forward to
3RP. Umm, I feel that I should add something more than just repeating
the subject line.
So I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of 'Doomsday Afternoon', it was
part of my Birthday extravaganza. Interestingly enough, I put a poll
up on the Prog Archives asking members to vote on their favorite of my
birthday purchases:
http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=55175&PN=2
and 'Doomsday Afternoon' tied for second place. In retrospect, I
probably should have omitted 'Lark's Tongue in Aspic' as it just
encouraged the '70's forever' bunch to ignore the rest. Honestly,
Lark's Tongue was more of a throw in, I happened to be in a used CD
store and saw it for $5, I said 'why not' and picked it up. Honestly,
I don't see what all of the fuss is about.
With that being said, 'Doomsday' beat out 'Remedy Lane' by Pain of
Salvation and tied 'Aenima' by Tool. Strong competition there.
Personally, I haven't voted yet as I haven't received three of the
discs (Doomsday and the two by Sylvan).
Why am I writing all of this, just because I think it's fantastic that
we (the fans) have this great opportunity to directly speak to the
artists that make the music that we love. I thought it was only
appropriate to give something back...even if it is the inane ramblings
of a madman ;)
Looking forward to #7,
Tom
