Hey Marc
== Hello Phideaux, and hello to all the members of the list
I think I sent you a copy, so I'm sorry you had to order it, but perhaps you can use it to turn on someone else! == Thank you ! :o)
I haven't received anything yet but I sure can make some good use of it.
I think I've turned a few people to your music thanks to the interview and articles I made plus the ones I've pointed out towards your MySpace page. I know a nice lady who's a music lover, in Canada, who actually ordered all your CD's in one row in 2007.
Meanwhile, those songs from new record were not truly final mixes, so I removed them. I removed Strange Cloud because we are not playing it live after all, and it's going to be on the next album, as well as a Colossus compilation. So, I didn't want to scoop it too much. == Oh, so that's why the 2 new songs on your Myspace page have been removed. OK.
The electronic cosmic music on our myspace page is something I did when I was quite young. It is all made with my electric guitar and a reel to reel tape player and a delay unit. No synths or anything else. It's called Mogon and will someday be released on a more experimental album I'd like to do spanning the ages of my archives. It's not exactly commercial, though. == Not really ! ;o)
I'll certainly have another listen or two in the next days. But I wonder if this is not going to put some people off, as it's not what we might expect frm Phideaux on the records that are available.
This kind of stuff needs more concentration and an open mind. Just my two cents.
I've listened to lots of "cosmic music" in my life yet, from Tangerine Dream to Hawkwind (OK, they can rock pretty hard too !), Klaus Schulze or AshRa Tempel, and others. And I still listen to it now anyway.
As for ripping stuff from internet. I am sure folks are ripping our stuff. In fact, I saw a torrent for Number Seven that said it had been grabbed 458 times. So, in theory 458 new people are hearing Number Seven! I hope they like it! == This kind of things is inevitable nowadays isn't it ?
At leas,t it's not a rip off of a promo CD 2 months before the official release, for instance...
I do hope tha
cheers for now and feel free to write reviews anyone who likes Number Seven. CD Baby and Amazon like to have reviews of the product, and there are some great progressive rock websites that take reviews. Let us know what you think of the album. Phideaux Xavier Overlord, Bloodfish Music == What I know id that I really liked what I heard on reverbnation.
I wasn't so surprised by the song in Italian as I do remember your love for certain Italian bands doing progressive rock, That always amazed me that you knew abou tthose bands as they are definitely collectors items. I'm not so knowledgeable about Italian bands that some other progressive rock specialists because often, I don't really like the singers' voices but I own a few LeOrme, I know Banco, PFM, a few other old bands and some more recent bands very much influenced by the 70's.
Well, you gave that delicate "chamber rock" style the Phideaux treatment and I prefer your voice. Very nice tribute. THe rest sounds beautiful too bu tas I said, I prefer to wait for the album to arrive, to listen carefully in the right runin gorder, quietly, without doing anything else, to be able to fully appreciate it.
Talk to you soon, Marc |
