Hello folks and friends
I have a few things to tell you. First, we've been working on a new
song with producer Rich Mouser. He's worked with Spock's Beard, Neal
Morse and Dream Theater (as well as many others). Together we've done a
song called "Tempest Of Mutiny". This track is now on our
myspace.com/phideaux page. Take a listen and see what you think.
"Tempest Of Mutiny" will be released on an album called "Pirate Tales"
which accompanies a graphic novel/comic book of the same name. It is a
project of CypherArts. So, this will be the only place to get this
track -- until of course we put out our "Best Of" album :-)
Additionally, we are close to finishing our new album "Doomsday
Afternoon". This is very exciting news because I believe this album is
our most challenging and intricate work thus far. It was recorded at
the same time as "The Great Leap" and is part two of a projected trilogy
that will end with an album called "Infernal" (but that's likely to be
2009).
Meanwhile, we are going to perform live this summer in France at
Festival Crescendo. We'd like to play a few gigs leading up to that,
hopefully in Germany and Netherlands. If anyone has any ideas of where
we should play, or any German/Dutch band that we could share the bill
with, please let me know. From my command chair in Los Angeles, it is
hard to figure some of these intercontinental issues.
ANY help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Someone suggested
the club Spirit of 66 in Belgium, but they are closed in August. We are
looking to perform August 12 -16 as this leads up to the show in France.
Cheers for now and keep in touch. I hope everyone (who got a chance to
hear it) has enjoyed "The Great Leap". We are very pleased with that
album, and especially the artwork. You can expect a similar eye treat
with the new album. Molly Ruttan is painting the cover as we speak.
Cheers for now
Phideaux Xavier
