*****OUR HOT PICKS FOR THE
WEEK:

LUSINE ICL. "LANGUAGE BARRIER"
language barrier is jeff mcilwain's first album for hymen records since
his iron city full length, released in 2002. (not including the 3'' cd contribution
for the travel sickness box set or the condensed singles compilation). here, mcilwain explores his ambient side to a fuller extent than in any of his previous releases. beautiful chord structures melt with excerpts from his
huge archive of field recordings. characteristic layers and treatments are
mostly kept together by a metric structure accented with subtle rhythms.
'jetstream', for example, gets this structure from a sample-and-hold-like-treatment - restrained, but still very sonically detailed. language barrier is ambient
electronic music at it's best, providing a relaxed, entrancing sentiment -
music to be listened to, carefully and often. digipak packaging. released on
hymen and available july 6th, 2007.

CESIUM 137 "PROOF OF LIFE"
While still maintaining their electronic body music roots, Cesium_137 has
continued to embrace other electronic dance music genres in order to forge
a fresh sound and keep the dance-floors busy. For the duo's latest album,
Proof Of Life, they enlisted the talents of accomplished electronic
musician/producer Paul J. Geissinger (aka Starkey) for the vocal production elements and drastically changed their mix studio to open up fresh and innovative
(analog) avenues of aural manipulation. The evolution of this new sound focuses on
Cesium_137's classical music tendencies as well as their rampant
technophilia. Tracks like "Flight," "Stars Turn Cold," "The
Waking City," and "Inhuman" display the band's knack for creating high quality driving anthems, while
songs like "Keep Me," and "Atmosphere" show their softer
side. Proof Of Life gives thirteen reasons why Cesium_137 is one of the front runners in the
trance-pop genre. Released on Metropolis and available August 7th, 2007.

THE EPOXIES "MY NEW WORLD"
Based out of Portland, OR, The Epoxies made a name for themselves on Fat
Wreck Chords with their album Stop The Future. Their mix of new-wave
synthesizers and punk rock elements proved to be a volatile concoction and the band landed
on countless tours in 2005 with the likes of the Undertones, The Aquabats, Me
First And The Gimme Gimmies, Against Me!, and many more. Signing with Metropolis
Records in 2007, The Epoxies are now preparing a brand new album for
release in the fall. Until then, Metropolis and The Epoxies are proud to present the
My New World EP. Featuring five very distinct tracks ranging from the electro
punk title track to the melancholic "Here In The Dark" to the old
school "Tragedy," the EP serves up a healthy dosage of what to expect from the forthcoming
album. Released on Metropolis and available August 21st, 2007.

MARSHEAUX "PEEK A BOO / EBAY QUEEN"
Normally, a jungle of cables and buttons on a complicated array of
antiquated electronic sound generators would be any woman's living nightmare. As for
Marianthi and Sophie … they can't have enough knobs, multicoloured faders
and blinking LEDs. Put them behind an old analogue synthesizer and their
creative spirit will spring to life at once… there can be no doubt about it: these
ladies are in love with their machines. Under the moniker of Marsheaux, the two
unleash a sonic universe full of multicoloured facets and with a distinctly
feminine touch from their collection of old Moogs, Korgs and Rolands. While happily
flirting with the appeal of Lolitaesque girlies, they also know well when
to hit the mark with lascivious coolness. Add to that a solid feel for catchy and
infectious melodies and a distinct affinity towards big Pop music moments.
As Marsheaux are also experts at the game of conjuring really fat sounds out
of their synthesizers, they are building their Pop anthems on a solid
foundation of beats and bass and are, thus, delivering floor fillers with hit qualities
that will bring any disco to life. The New Order classic "Regret",
for instance, is re-invented on a mighty groove that will most likely force anyone to get
their body moving at once. "Peek a Boo" is released as a limited
deluxe double Digipak at their price of a regular CD. This edition includes the group's highly acclaimed debut album "E-Bay Queen" as a bonus disc. With
Marsheaux, there is no "Dream of a Disco" – the group brings the disco right into your
own four walls. Irresistible… Released on Out of Line and available July 31st, 2007.

BLUTENGEL "LUCIFER (PURGATORY)"
Who is saying that the dark side cannot have pop appeal? Blutengel, with
their charismatic front man and mastermind Chris Pohl have always been experts
at wrapping dark romantic themes in a catchy electronic packaging. The title
track of their latest single, "Lucifer", is no exception – an
addictive track that combines gloomy lyrics with an emotional melody and massive beats that are
suitable for any dance floor. Driven by the exciting interplay of Chris
Pohl's powerful dark voice and the heavenly chanting of Ulrike Goldmann, the
group conjures up a club anthem that is destined to give you goose bumps.
Blutengel are again highly successful at reaching out far beyond the limits of the so-called "gothic scene" – it is hardly any wonder that their
releases are hitting the German Media Control Charts on a regular basis.
"Lucifer" will be released in two different versions, titled "Purgatory" and
"Blaze." Each CD will be containing the title track, one exclusive remix, one re-recorded new
version of a classic Blutengel-tune (incl. a special new version of the rare
"Black Roses"), plus live versions of two of the group's biggest hits. And…
what date could be more fitting for releasing these gems than a Friday, the 13th? Therefore… get that little black dress you have hidden in the far end of
your drawer out and release the little devil in you! Friday, the 13th of July,
2007 is Lucifer-Day! Released on Out of Line and available July 31st,

DIRK SERRIES & STEVEN WILSON "CONTINUUM
2"
Continuum represents a multi-layered synonym for the collective ambition
and vision of Dirk Serries (VidnaObmana, Fear Falls Burning) and Steven Wilson
(Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion, Blackfield), motivated by their immense
passion for a wide-range of musical styles. "Continuum 2" is the second
release in a series of limited edition albums being issued by Soleilmoon Recordings.
Each CD is presented in a beautiful oversized digipack with breathtaking design
and artwork by Lasse Hoile.
"Continuum 1", the first release, captured both artists' love of
desolate, minimal music, and featured three 20 minute pieces of richly melancholic textural music. It sold out within a few weeks of its release, and was subsequently pirated in the Czech Republic, a dubious honor never
previously bestowed upon a Soleilmoon release.
Fast-forward two years, and Serries and Wilson are back with
"Continuum 2". The new album again has three long pieces, but breaks from its predecessor by
enriching its electronic soundscapes with a variety of electric guitars.
The album defies easy categorization as it willfully and relentlessly crosses
boundaries and genres, breaking every rule it meets and tearing down
fences–and expections–along the way. Is it ambient? Is it metal? It is neither, and
yet, it is both. But it's so much more. Think of a Sci-Fi horror film shot on the
surface of an abandoned, ghost-ridden planet, or the soundtrack to a slow
motion apocalypse in which all life is extinguished beneath rock, dust and
convulsing earth. Released on Soleilmoon and available July 31st, 2007.

MINDFLUXFUNERAL "TEATRO
DEREVELACION"
Teatro deRevelacion , the latest release from MindFluxFuneral, is a fierce
rebirth of mechanized sounds and vocals aggravated by vast media,
technology and the industrial rock/metal movement of the late 80s (Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Ministry) mindFluxFuneral have not only reinvented the power chord with
this edgy, aggressive, electro album, they have also supplied us with our
future anthems. Released on Bit Riot and available July 16th, 2007.

MIDNIGHT CONFIGURATION "PARALLEL
WORLDS"
This is without doubt one of the most dynamic and powerful CDs the band
have EVER produced. Rare is the CD where virtually every song is a class A
product! Every track is a blaster, designed to reinforce the band..s standing
within the music scene, as well as to push the frontiers of musical innovation even
further than ever before!
A sonic invocation of darkened energies that could wake the dead, as well
as put some much needed fire in the living! This album has it all! The band have
stayed true to their subcultural Gothic roots, but have whole-heartedly embraced
the power of new technologies and guitar approaches. Imagine Ministry, but
with a darker Darkwave approach, fuelled by the ..Voice of the Unclean.. that is
Trev Bamford, the sheet metal slabs of guitar riffola courtesy of Nick
Hopkinson, and the Dark Lady herself, Estelle van Goth on the seductive and sinister
synth washes.
An angry and groundbreaking CD. Every home should have a copy! Released on
Nightbreed and available July 10th, 2007.

SHRIEKBACK "GLORY BUMPS"
We're very proud to announce the arrival of Shriekback's eleventh album,
and their second on Malicious Damage [following 2005's highly acclaimed
Cormorant]. Glory Bumps is in many ways more recognizably the descendant of
Shriekback's mid-80's 'alt-rock' classic Oil and Gold than any since. Anthems, hooligan
choruses, big guitars, brass, a smattering of Psychobilly and, as usual, shed-loads of words. Glory Bumps has a curious tangential relationship
with Barry Andrews' and Martyn Barker's recent improvised album Monstrance, a collaboration with XTC's Andy Partridge - Glory Bumps uses a number of
loops created from the Monstrance album ['because they were there'] as well as
Martyns' inimitable live drums and real-time guitar contributions from Andy. Barry
co-produces with Stuart Rowe, who was one of the engineers from
Monstrance. However there is no doubt that this is a Shriekback album 100% - as you
will hear. Wendy Partridge who has sung backing vocals on every Shriekback
album since 1986 features as does Barry's son Finn Andrews (of The Veils) who
lends his intense vocals to the happy-clappy title track. The album's title is a
reference to the goosebumps experienced by fundamentalist Christians when
the amount of misery prevalent in the world presages, or so they believe,
their abrupt assimilation into the bosom of their Lord although we suspect that,
on the day of the Rapture, Shriekback will not be amongst them. PERSONNEL
Barry Andrews: vocals, keyboards, Finn Andrews: backing vocals, Martyn Barker:
drums and percussion, Andy Partridge: guitars, Catharine Shrubshall: brass and woodwind, Mark the Harp: blues harp, Ben Smith: Trombone, Stuart Rowe:
guitars, Finn Wilkinson & Mia Griffiths: kids choir Produced by Barry Andrews
& Stuart Rowe, Mixed & mastered by Stuart Rowe CD in embossed gold foil pack

LEGIAC (FUNCKARMA) "MINGS FEANER"
Announcing a new child to the Sending Orbs family has always been a great
pleasure of a special kind, but rarely has the unity of great music and
artwork brought us to such mountainous spheres of admiration and pride. Legiac
is the well-known and genre-present Funckarma brothers, teaming up with
vintage analog synth-guru and professional behind-the-scenes soundtracker, Cor
Bolten. This is an album following fully along Sending Orbs' catalog: 70 minutes
of unearthly ambient, heartbreaking pads, punching beats and the insane sound-production Funckarma is so known for. Some adjectives if you want: delicate, enigmatic, distant, pretty, obscure. The cooperation with Bolten
definitely sheds a new daylight on Funckarma's music. Never before have
they released an album with such a natural feeling of completion and unity.
Hearing those highly textured ambient scapes and rhythmical interceptions
interweave at such a subconscious level, we cannot but say this trio really has
something magical and unheard going on. The collaboration with our in-house designer
Jeroen Advocaat (who is on his way to a legendary status in the cover art
world) yields one of his finest artworks he has done for Sending Orbs: the
painting of an intercepted orb, an artifact made out of organic and mechanical
material, all in great detail, over a striking 8 page, thick-paper booklet that could
very much be sold as a piece of art by itself. Released on Sending Orbs and
available July 1st, 2007.

BIPOL "RITUAL"
andreas brinkert a.k.a. bipol (synth, sampling, programming &
arrangement) has been active since 1992. he has also supported well known bielefeld based
artists such as ars moriendi, templegarden's and rasputeen. in 2000, he and
andreas glöckner started the rhythm industrial project punch inc. which has
released one cd-r and two fulltime cds. in addition, he began to develop his own
project bipol in 2005. ritual is the result of two years of hard work, a mixage of
electronic tribal/triphop beats, combined with dark psychotic soundscapes,
drony bass lines and odd voice samples. bipol's music could be seen as the continuation of industrial music before power noise took over; that is,
pounding beat boxes, irritating electro acoustic sounds and disturbing
implementation of effects. the mood is quite the same on this release - brinkert's technical
skills and ritual's production prove that this cd is a topical one.
moctan's remix of invocation demonstrates that bipol's basics work perfectly in
hard four-to-the-floor context. bipol's aim is to create a menacing sentiment
of insecurity that is a result of medial influences in our industrial
civilisation. a kaleidoscope of hope, aspiration and fear, turned into sound. from the beginning you will be trapped in a cage of sheer intensity, unable to
escape and unwilling to stop listening. this is the soundtrack of life's dark
corners. enjoy...released on ant-zen and available july 6th, 2007.

GJÖLL "NOT TO LEAD NOR TO
FOLLOW"
on their second release, jóhann eiríksson and sigurður harðarson follow
the ideological path that they began with 'way through zero'. instead of one conceptual work divided in parts, gjöll presents six tracks. the lyrics
printed in the cd booklet show this project's empathy for the individual who is
able to detach from political, religious or social necessities. even without
listening to gjöll's music you can already feel the anger, the challenges of
society's excrescences, and the frustration about the way things are (and about the
way things should be). as on the previous album, gjöll transcribe their
musical statements into a process in which the listener is forced to open up.
pulsing drones, mighty synth layers, heavy sequencer patterns and disembowelling sub-basses combine with harðarson's ear-piercing vocals and the result is
an unforgettable listening experience. this project's music is hard to
compare, but both musicians are able to merge the intensity of grindcore or doom metal
with industrial's sonic variety. an outstanding release and recommended to the
open minded listener. released on ant-zen and available july 6th, 2007.

CONTAGIOUS ORGASM "RIPPLE"
hiroshi hashimoto started releasing music twenty years ago as contagious
orgasm. right from the beginning listeners knew that there was something very
unique and special about c.o.'s sound - differing from the typical japanese
'industrial scene'. the initial aural transformation of track and release titles were
soon replaced by something quite different. themes became more abstract and surrealistic; influences came from various collaborations and often
seriousness was undercut with a wink... as on previous c.o. releases you can hear
musical and stylistic sources from many cultural areas; for instance on 'ripple'
you can hear indian chants, dub bass, electronic clicks/cuts, gongs, a piano, even
straight beats and minimal sequencer grooves. styles range from free form
to dance music to idm to noise and to ethnic sources. in hashimoto's works
these ingredients cease what they were before - they are now transformed into
coherent music (without being a eclectic cliché). an example: often many artists
use voice samples in their work, to explain or to engross thoughts.
hashimoto's usage of samples take the 'instruments of speech' out of their initial
contexts - used in c.o.'s metaverse they entirely lose their initial intent and
function. if we go further and think about 'rhythms', 'melodies' and 'textures'
instead of 'voices', we might have a key to c.o.'s self conception. this album should
be experienced with all senses wide open. enjoy this anniversary and look
forward to the next twenty years of a great artist. released on ant-zen and
available july 6th, 2007.

PURR MACHINE "STARRY"
NOW SHIPPING!!
Purr Machine is a hybrid of rock, gothic, bohemian, ethereal and
electronica influences! Their new full length CD "Starry" promises to be a
very heavy experience, an intoxicating cornucopia of catchy melodies, driving
rhythms, and the band's trademark lyrical style. Some of the musical contributions on "Starry" consist of drums on several songs by Chris Vrenna, of
NINE INCH NAILS / TWEAKER fame, and guitars on the song 'Sister' by William Faith of FAITH
AND THE MUSE. Statik from COLLIDE did some loop treatments on the song 'Sad I'm
Gone'. Other guests include guitarist Kirk Hellie of Pink Noise Test and Byron
Brown of Mercurine, who plays guitar on this album.
Like previous Purr Machine releases, Starry resists pigeonholing into any
one genre, Bringing freshness to subject matter as clichéd as love, loss,
sadness and hope isn't easy, but the songwriting team of frontwoman Betsy Martin (formerly of Caterwaul) and musician Kevin Kipnis (former Bassist of
seminal goth rockers Kommunity fk ) self-describe their sound as "snuggling
under an electric blanket submerged in water". A Purr Machine song can
sometimes be like a conversation with an old friend - there's an unspoken, direct, natural familiarity that draws you in without hesitation. Kevin's musicianship is
first-rate, painting an irresistible sonic landscape, combined with the incomparable voice of Betsy Martin. Every thought and feeling is fully
realized, every emotion clarified in her unique, distinctive croon. Siren and
seductress, friend and confidante, she can whisper in your ear, or pull you to your
feet and shake you. Once you are engulfed in the Purr Machine sound, you'll never
forget it! Released on No Bliss Lost Records.

THESTART "CIAO, BABY"
NOW SHIPPING!!
Formed in 1998, theStart has graced the rosters of many record labels
including 143 Records/Atlantic Records, The Label/Geffen Records and Nitro Records.
Credited as one of the first bands of the new wave revival, the punk/synth
rock band gained notoriety with their albums Shakedown! and Initiation. Now
poised to release their newest album Ciao, Baby on Metropolis, theStart have refined
and nurtured their sound into a dancier version of their former selves.
However, the punk and new wave elements are still visible through the pop sensibilities
that they have incorporated. Tracks like "Wartime" and "Master
Plan" exhibit the new evolution, while songs such as "Blood On My Hands" and
"Runaway" show the signature style that fans have come to know and love. The "Dance
Revolution" for punk and new new wave has begun and theStart are just the beginning.

FUNKER VOGT "AVIATOR"
NOW SHIPPING!!
Limited edition comes in a digi-pack with a bonus CD!
Little over a year since Funker Vogt released Navigator, they are back in
the cockpit with their follow-up, Aviator. Navigator indicated Funker Vogt's
new direction and Aviator continues that by presenting to the fans what they
have been longing for: 12 brand new tracks for the dance-floor.
Just as with the previous album, Aviator follows an overall concept:
eventually, through time, memories of history and war fade away. Starting with the
title track and flowing through each one after, the theme extends throughout the
cover artwork, booklet, and band photos as well. The cover shows an old airplane
and many more are found throughout the booklet, but not as a whole. Individual
pieces are shown to illustrate the ideas of time, history, decay, aging
and abstract ideas through the details of cracks, peeling paint, and crumbling
rivets of these planes that are rusting away into obscurity and will soon
be gone forever. With their passing, memories will fade into obscurity (much
like the soldiers whose memories are vanishing) and only pictures will remain
without a direct link to the physical manifestation. All of which symbolically illustrates the subject matter.
The lyrics deal at least in part or collectively with the theme.
Highlights include: "Blind Rage" (discusses past wars),
"Thanatophobia" (deals with the fear to die and finally be forgotten), "Child Soldiers" (kids
fighting in wars), "City of Darkness" and "Babylon" (the dark and gloomy
outcome of the end of the world), and "Paralyzed" together with "Darwin's
Nightmare" (talk about current situations facing humanity). Finally, along with "My Fortune"
and "Frozen in Time" which are more personal in nature, "Hostile Waters"
can be seen as the missing link between "Navigator" and "Aviator" by
alluding to reformation, the obstacles along the way and the long awaited landing on a new shore. A big
undertaking went underway to diversify the sound structures within
Aviator. Over all, the album is fast and beat driven, with more emphasis placed on the
sounds and samples to make it a much more pronounced album. This can be seen with
Aviator's club tracks like ''City of Darkness'' (136 bpm) or ''Paralyzed''
(130 bpm) which are seemingly mid-tempo songs when compared to
''Thanatophobia'' (144 bpm), ''One'' (140 bpm), and ''My Fortune'' (139 bpm). All in all Aviator
comes across as fresher, more aggressive and diversified than Navigator but
still encompasses Funker Vogt's signature elements. Which is how Funker Vogt
should sound in 2007! Released on Metropolis.

VARIOUS "WHEN ANGELS DIE"
NOW SHIPPING!!
'Steffi died on July 31, 2006 at age 29 from breast cancer. She was a
wonderful friend, lover and human being. She is deeply missed! Steffi had a
fascination with angels and her last wish was to have a tombstone with an angel. These
things are very pricey. So, we (Sascha and COP International/Christian)
decided to release a benefit compilation to raise money for two causes: Breast
cancer awareness as well as said tombstone. All participants will donate their
efforts and time for this project. So far the response has been simply
breathtaking: The line-up is absolutely amazing and we are very proud of each contributor
and the scene that supports this effort. The release is planned for May 2007 and
will consist of a regular CD compilation with a virtual CD as an added bonus.
Please spread the word about this project, we hope to not only raise enough money
for our project, but also make this a sign of the love and compassion in our
'dark' scene. Released on COP.

SUICIDE COMMANDO "X.20 - BOXSET"
NOW SHIPPING!!
The cult formation SUICIDE COMMANDO has been a high-quality constant in
the electro scene for years: a hit machine, a DJ staple, and an audience
favorite in every venue. Hits like "See You In Hell", "Hellraiser", or "Dein Herz,
Meine Gier", just to name a few, have transformed SUICIDE COMMANDO not only into
a household name worldwide, but also into a de facto label for of an entire
genre of music. It's hard to believe that the Belgian EBM legend celebrated his
20th anniversary last year - celebrated by a series of special anniversary
concerts, which were thankfully recorded and which are about to see release on DVD
as part of the "X20" limited edition box set. And the DVD is just the beginning!
Some of the biggest names in EBM and industrial - including SITD, Combichrist,
Agonoize, Covenant, Spetsnaz, and Wumpscut - have contributed their own versions of
SUICIDE COMMANDO classics to a sort of tribute album. As if that weren't
enough, a "best of" CD collecting highlights of the last 20 years is part of the
package as well. The track list was selected by fans via Internet voting, so there
is guaranteed to be no filler - just hit after hit from track 1. You still
want more? How about the long-awaited "F*** You Bitch" CD5, the first single
from last year's smash LP "Bind, Torture, Kill"? To top it all off, add in a 40
page booklet packed with photos from the past 20 years of SUICIDE COMMANDO, and
you've got yourself a musthave package.
In case you missed it all the first time: "X20" comes in a CD-sized box
which includes a DVD, 3 CDs and a 40 page booklet, sold at a reduced price which
will allow regular fans the chance to own a true collector's item. None of the
CDs included will see release separately, and the "X20" package will be
limited to just 5,000 copies worldwide. Don't delay: this is gonna sell out fast!
Released on Dependent.
