*****OUR HOT PICKS FOR THE WEEK!

ENDUSER "LEFT"
END.USER is one of the cornerstones of the modern eclectic electronic music. Support from BBC Radio's Mary Anne Hobbs and a list of DJs too long to fit on a one sheet, from many different genres, and releases across many platforms have built him into a juggernaut. A usually prolific artist, having recorded for Hymen, Ad Noiseam, Sublight, Cargo, and many others, he took 2007 off, working on something very special – his debut album on Ohm Resistance. Having relocated to San Francisco, a new lease on his creative power is demonstrated adroitly over the entire album. Album: left shows the most range of END.USER's album making career. Intensely personal, intensely musical, and just plain INTENSE at points, the album showcases a spectacular array of skills across the board. From radio play material ("black light") with aussie vocalist Sol Thomas, to collaborations with and remixes by influential electronic acts SCORN and COUNTERSTRIKE, to absolutely stunning, no boundaries drum n bass, the album is diverse and full of powerful compositions. Compelling from start to finish, left is the culmination of more than a year's work. Label: Ohm Resistance is Brooklyn's premier experimental electronic label. Loaded with power, from Scorn, to Bill Laswell's Method of Defiance, to Enduser and Submerged, the label has transformed from drum n bass 12" powerhouse to cutting edge electronic project pioneer. Released on Ohm Resistance and available March 15th, 2008.

JUNO REACTOR "GODS & MONSTERS"
A brand new age of music arrives as composer Ben Watkins takes us into uncharted territories of sonic awareness. This is the seventh awakening of Juno Reactor, which has transformed its sound through film music. From The Matrix films, Reloaded and Revolutions, to his work in the Japanese films Brave Story and Dimension Bomb, which premieres at The Kennedy Centre in Washington on February 16th, Watkins fascination with Japanese animation makes it way in Gods & Monsters with the excellent cover painted by Koji Morimoto. It's inside Morimoto's characters that Juno's music currently lives, the mystery of the unknown. WARNING: DO NOT DRIVE WITH THIS MUSIC ON! When the road disappears it's dangerous. The evolution of Juno Reactor defines the moment; it changes day by day as Watkins surrounds himself with the best musicians that realize a vision consumed by multiple worlds and diverse cultures. From the thriving pulse of the "Inca Steppa" to a peek inside a schemer with "The Perfect Crime," these sonic adventures leave our world behind to enter another. It's the pulsating drums of Greg Ellis and the primitive percussion of Mabi that are the backbone of musical delights. We hear the vocal talents of Ghetto Priest, Yasmin Levy, and Ben himself, as well as those wonderfully twisted articulations that are cut, spliced, turned upside down and filtered through a demons tongue. The intensity of the "Immaculate Crucifixion" leads us into "Las Vegas" where we hear the trumpet of Byron Wallen. And it's shades of The Matrix with Israeli singer Ladino and Tigran Aleksanyan on the duduk, ney flute, and zorn in the frantic middle eastern "Tanta Pena." But it's those last two adventures where we hear Watkins's voice dominantly emerge with the intricate acoustic guitar work of Eduardo Nielbla on "The Perfect Crime" and avant-garde pianist Mike Garson (David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, and The Smashing Pumpkins), on the eyebrow raiser "Pretty Girl." The performances on Gods & Monsters are brilliant, so sit back and take it in, every precious second of it. As the light dims we hear the echoes of a life gone by in a land far, far, away. Sweet melodies from invisible thought guide us into dimensions unknown. Into the mind portals we travel eternally dancing to the reactors hum in a world consumed by Gods & Monsters. (written by: Rudy Koppl). Released on Metropolis and available April 22nd, 2008.

*****PRE-ORDER-O-RAMA!

PROJECT PITCHFORK "WONDERLAND / ONE MILLION FACES"
It would be reductive to indicate this work "only" as an album. The first description that occurs to the listener is a "hearing experience". Project Pitchfork once again went beyond the scope of every well-known standard in order to give us something revolutionary and surprising.

Wonderland and One million Faces consist respectively of three parts (Ouverture, Wonderland, Résumé and Research, Consequence, One million Faces). The structure of the pieces reminds to refreshing way of operas as well as of classic music compositions.

The sound worlds in which Project Pitchfork takes us away are soaked with delightful somber beauty and irresistible, electronic hardness. The music catapults us to a place in which enchanted dreams and pitch-black nightmares become one in an optimal balance between tradition and innovation.

It is here about a work that has the strength to let the listener feel like a "spectator". The film that one just pursued is of full fascinating details which reveal themselves more and more until one looks at the film no longer but perceives it.

This release combines a high compositional level, textual depth and a splendid teamwork of captivating sound and atmosphere. It proves therefore the potential to inspire older as well as new Pitchfork fans. Released on Prussia and available March 4th, 2008.

FREEZE ETCH "VESSELS"
Indiana-based electronic producer Freeze Etch (Adam Duckworth, 24) has been releasing music since 2002. The FE sound has been described as being "equal parts ambient, drone, minimalist, IDM and bits of industrial all together," incorporating rich melodic influence and brooding elemental qualities amidst driving industrial rhythms and textures. His label debut came with 2003's Helios EP, appearing on Dave Dando-Moore's (Detritus) now-defunct Immanence Records. Now, over four years in the making and clocking in at just over an hour — Vessels, the first proper full-length Freeze Etch album, is a dynamic excursion into a world of thick organic rhythms, striking melodic textures, and surging ambient momentum. By turns sparkling and pristine and by others ugly and smoldering, Vessels explores the brooding tensions between dynamically opposed auras, employing textures which are at once terrestrial and alien, as well as melodic structures which merge skilled composition with the ambiguous flood of drone. Featuring artwork by Eric Carl and mastering by Josh Colella (Scrap.edx). Released on Force Of Nature and available March 15th, 2008.

FANU + BILL LASWELL "LODGE"
FANU is Finland's and perhaps the world's finest breakbeat splicer and re-imaging doctor. His programming, layering, and arrangements of classic breakbeats are truly some of the most innovative and by far the most realistic sounding – akin to a jazz drummer with no boundaries and seventeen available drum kits at once. BILL LASWELL is the grammy award winning producer of Herbie Hancock, bassist and arranger extraordinaire. Fresh off the amazing Method of Defiance record "Inamorata", he's completed this follow up recording, which also features Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell and Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvaer prominently. Album: If you took the electric period of Miles Davis, with less repetition, more funk, and mad scientist drummer, you might end up halfway to LODGE. Half time vamps swing with steady funk bass from Laswell and one of Bernie Worrell's most inspired keyboard performances since PFunk, LODGE turns it out with much more emphasis on the groove. Bits of drum n bass and floating trumpet maneuver over the core modular pieces; a much less harsh sound than the Method of Defiance project, more demonstrative of the soul of Laswell's funktronics. Label: Ohm Resistance is Brooklyn's premier experimental electronic label. Loaded with power, from Scorn, to Bill Laswell and his project Method of Defiance, to End.user and Submerged, the label has transformed from drum n bass 12" powerhouse to cutting edge electronic project pioneer. Released on Ohm Resistance and available March 15th, 20008.

MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO "AUTOIMMUNE"
Meat Beat Manifesto has been hailed as one of the front runners in the electronic music scene since 1987. Front man Jack Dangers has made sure over the years to keep from being categorized into a specific genre by continuously expanding his musical influences and overall direction of Meat Beat Manifesto. The first album, Storm The Studio, was immediately considered an industrial classic. Even with its success, Dangers refused to rest on his laurels and constantly evolved the Meat Beat sound with no two albums sounding exactly alike. Now after many years of silence, Meat Beat Manifesto is back! With this tenth album, Autoimmune, the seminal electronic band is pushing the musical boundaries even further than they've gone before. Focusing on the type of music he likes to create, mastermind Jack Dangers has created a tour de force of electronic genius which is sure to spark renewed interest in the dubstep and electronic music scenes. WUMPSCUT "SCHADLING"
Wumpscut has come a long way since its conception by Rudy Ratzinger in 1991. For over seventeen years, his music has remained as invigorating as it was from day one. For 2008, Wumpscut presents his newest accomplishment, Schädling. Not since Evil Young Flesh has there been an album with such ferocity. From the opening antagonist "Rusty Nails From Hell" that pushes the listener over the edge, to the redefined classic sound of "Rifki," to the techno infused "Hard To Bear," to the closing resolution "Nest," Wumpscut has once again out done himself. NEGATIVE FORMAT "GRADIENTS"
After three years of silence, Negative Format is back with a brand new studio album for 2008. Marking a new evolution in Negative Format's sound, Gradients is a refreshing new take on the techno/electro genre. Thematically the album examines the human mind, the dark, the light, and the grays in between through a fusion of musical influences. Delicate pads, intricate beats, beautiful vocals, methodical glitches, epic synths, down tempo rhythms, and floor pounding kicks work in harmony to create an aural experience unlike no other. Highlights on the completely mind-blowing Gradients include the pulse pounding "Hues of Grey," the epic "Structures And Shadows," the driving "Origins," the high energy "Photon Ring," the groovy "Foundations," and the somber "Granite." If it seems that every track on the album is a highlight, well, that's because it is. Gradients clearly stands out as Negative Format's magnum opus. DIE FORM "BACH PROJECT"
NOW SHIPPING!!
For more than 25 years, Die Form's artistic appeal has been their seamless fusion of music, photography, performance, and experimental film. In 2007, Die Form was invited to perform a selection of Johann Sebastian Bach's works re-arranged as an audio-video show at the Bach Fest in Leipzig, Germany. The response to their interpretation of Bach was so overwhelming, that it warranted a CD release. DIE KRUPSS "TOO MUCH HISTORY"
NOW SHIPPING!!
Die Krupps is a name synonymous with the founding of the electro-industrial-metal genre. Formed in the early 80s out of the post punk movement, the band utilized synthesizers with metallic percussion. By the time the 90s hit, they began incorporating heavy guitars into the mix and gave a breath of fresh air to the industrial and metal communities. Now over 25 years have passed and their name can still be heard escaping the lips of musicians who they have influenced. To commemorate the anniversary of this iconic band, Metropolis Records is proud to present Too Much History. This double CD is split into two parts: disc one contains hits from "The Electro Years" and disc two contains hits from "The Metal Years."
