EMIL BULLS
The Black Path
Kozman
from Winnipeg... "this is one of the best metal albums I've ever
heard;
it's intense, raging, high-energy, honestly the best release on Drakkar so
far.
Every song destroys. I think I listen three times a day without fail, at
the gym too! Emil Bulls has taken the torch from Pantera in a big
way.
Favourite song: Worlds Apart."
*****THIS WEEK'S MUST-HAVE RELEASE!

MERZBOW
"EUCALYPSE"
The Tasmanian
Blue Gum tree, Eucalyptus globulus, is native to Tasmania and southern
Australia. Eucalyptus trees are uniquely suited to the varied ecologies of
Australia, and there is no other continent more closely associated with
one
genus of tree. Its leaves are the food of choice of the koala, and its
flowers
attract bees and hummingbirds. Out of approximately 300 identified
species, Blue
Gums are now the eucalyptus most frequently found in other parts of the
world.
Throughout the tropics they are known for their ability to dry out swampy
areas,
making them a valuable weapon in the fight against malaria, a disease
caused by
parasites carried in female Anopheles mosquitos, which breed in standing
water.
Eucalyptus globulus was first brought to India in the late 18th century.
Large
plantations were establish in Kerala in 1863, but other than small amounts
of
oil distilling, little use has been made of the fast growing trees.
Instead,
they have thrived in the moist, foggy hills, spreading far across the
landscape
and transforming the ecosystem in the process. With their deep roots they
lower
water tables, depriving native species of the moisture necessary to
survive the
annual dry season, while the anti-bacterial properties of the “blue gum”
secretions they drop on the soil further suppress the germination and
growth of
other plants. An ancient and intricate web of life has been disrupted, and
native plants, insects and animals are being driven to extinction. Humans,
who
have long been a part of the local ecosystem, are adaptable and will
survive,
but the biodiversity of an entire region is under threat from a single
exotic
species.
It is truly a eucalyptus apocalypse.
It is a eucalypse.
At Soleilmoon,
packaging and presentation are never
overlooked. This release comes in a hand-crafted round wooden box with
screenprinted swiveling lid. The box contains one CD and four full-color
cards.
Only 1000 copies of this handsome CD have been made, and there will be no
follow-up editions released. Released on Soleilmoon and available July
21st,
2008.

JUNO
REACTOR "BIBLE OF DREAMS"
Bible of Dreams, originally
released in August 1997,
showcases the transformation of Juno Reactor from a dance/trance style
orientation to a focus on more aggressive thematic styles and a more
diverse
range of influences such as pop and world. The music still retains the
high
BPM’s and unique custom sounds as before, but moves away from the
repetitious
styling associated with conventional trance acts. The drums have a varied
feel
that previous albums lacked and have ethnic influenced rhythms that are
definitely not dancer-friendly! The vocals have a haunting tribal vibe
that is
best showcased in “Conga Fury”, which features the South African
percussion
group Amampondo. The uniquely dark and raw “Komit” is featured reworked in
the
Matrix: Reloaded. A step away from the conventional, Bible Of Dreams is
exactly
what Ben Watkins was striving for when he created Juno Reactor. Previously
out-of-print, the album is now being re-released so fans can once again
hear the
raw, uncensored sound of Juno Reactor. With a Summer 2008 European tour
and the
brand new album Gods & Monsters receiving critical acclaim, it’s
shaping up
to be a monumental year for Juno Reactor. Released on Metropolis and
available
August 5th, 2008.

*****HOT PRE-ORDERS!!

JUNO
REACTOR "BEYOND THE INFINITE"
Ben Watkins
set
out with an idea to be different, and that is exactly what Juno Reactor
has
always been. The first release, Transmissions, pioneered the Goa style and
showed the world what trance music should sound like. Not wanting to
conform,
Lu.Ci-Ana was released checking in at just over an hour for just one
track.
Conventional? Absolutely not, and Reactor’s third studio album continued
to show
the diversity of styles and influence with which Watkins could create an
album.
Beyond the Infinite was released in April 1996 and is much darker and
heavier
than Transmissions, but keeps the dance club accessibility of before. The
first
single, “Guardian Angel,” has beautiful strings over an oscillating synth
that
draws the listener in and makes them crave more. “Ice Cube” and
“Razorback” are
dark, heavy on the bass, and entirely danceable. Previously out-of-print,
Beyond
the Infinite is being re-released to allow fans the chance to listen to an
album
that defined trance in the mid 90’s. With the upcoming Summer 2008 tour
and the
brand new album Gods & Monsters just released, this looks to be THE
year for
Juno Reactor. Check out Beyond the Infinite, you won’t be disappointed.

KMFDM "EXTRA VOLUME 2 -
DCD"
Metropolis Records
presents KMFDM Extra.
Extra is a three volume set of double disc collections of all KMFDM tracks
not
included on the ten KMFDM Classic albums.
KMFDM Extra features recordings culled from the band’s 12” vinyl singles, CD singles and alternate versions of albums. Every track in the Extra series has been remastered by the same crew who did the amazing remasters for all 10 KMFDM Classic albums. All of the material on Extra has been out of print for many years. Some songs in the Extra series appear on CD for the first time ever and none of them have been released in remastered form before.
Continuing the tradition started with the KMFDM Classic releases the accompanying booklets for the Extra series are packed with exciting material. Some highlights include cover art from every album and single from which cuts were taken (most covers are by famed KMFDM cohort Brute!), never before seen photos of the band from the time period, release history info for all tracks and previously unavailable complete recording information and credits. As it has been with all the KMFDM re-releases on Metropolis, work on this series, from the remastering to the packaging, has been done with the highest level of participation from Sascha K., KMFDM’s leader and founder.
Extra Volume 2, coming August 5th, is comprised of songs from the Help Us/Save Us/Take Us Away single in 1992 to the Glory single in 1994. This two disc set contains 27 tracks, over 2 hours and 12 minutes of music. Extra Vol. 2 features the original re-mixes of some of KMFDM’s biggest hits: “A Drug Against War”, “Light”, “Sucks”, “Glory” plus b-sides, extra tracks and more! Extra Vol. 2 also includes a 16 page booklet featuring art, photos and anecdotes.
Extra Vol. 1 is out and available now, look for Extra Vol. 3 coming soon to complete the KMFDM Extra trilogy. KMFDM, a musical Extravaganza. Released on Metropolis and available August 5th, 2008.

ACUMEN NATION & DJ ACUCRACK
"ARTIFACTS II:
1990-1994"
As a
producer,
Cracknation Records founder Jason Novak began building tracks in Chicago
as
early as1988. Influenced by local industrial lynchpins like WaxTrax!
Records,
Medusa’s and Exit nightclubs, and the Jourgensen camp, Novak began to sow
the
seeds of Acumen and Acucrack via harsh, 4/4 electronic dance music.
As guitars, breakbeats and jungle barged in over the years, these early tracks were abandoned by the time Acumen was signed to Fifth Colvmn Records in 1994 and DJ? Acucrack reared its head in 1997. However, the power of this early music (which caught the ear of WaxTrax! founder Jim Nash just before the label fell on hard times) remains fresh to this day, and we are proud to finally release 12 tracks of it, remastered.
So as time has eroded the magic of the distorted, snarling, processed sounds of early industrial dance music, as we say goodbye to Ministry and eulogize WaxTrax finally with the closing of TVT, we offer this collection of dark nostalgia, created in Chicago at a time before guitars infiltrated the mix and Hot Topic homogenized the scene... Get ready to stomp! Released on CrackNation and available July 8th, 2008.

No slavish imitators,
Sweden's Down In
June deconstruct and lavishly – as well as lovingly – reinvent songs from

Death In June catalogue with their own distinctive Totenpop vision. As The
Byrds
were to Dylan, so Down In June are to Death In June. A very rare and
surprising
discovery awaits. Released on Nerus and available July 8th, 2008.

V1RTUAL D3SCENT "DARKENED
SKIES"
Hailing from deep within
the mid west,
US, V1rtual D3scent (V1D3) finds its origins. The band is comprised of
Erich
Fate and Scott Pilz and for close to three years these brothers have been
honing
their craft, using classically trained hands at the piano, with the
analytical
approach of technology to create a hybrid form of electronic music that is
both
symphonic and stentorian.
The debut CD is now out on DSBP Records and reads as more of a "full length CD with a BONUS EP attached".10 original tracks/versions of EBM/ Industrial with touches of synthpop melodies and memorable choruses.Piano and strings blend very well in the mix, and the vocals remind us of ASSEMBLAGE 23, SEABOUND, and SYSTEM SYN.
8 Bonus tracks round out this CD if 78+
minutes with
remixes of the "singles"
from TELEMETRY,DJ DARKBOY,
CHAINED ANTHEM, ACRYLIC SPIKE PROJECT, DJ SPETSNAZ, POLARIZED MIND and
