*****THIS WEEK'S MUST-HAVE RELEASE!

MATAMACHETE "TANIN NO KAO"
Swiss band MATAMACHETE have been playing together since 2003, building a peculiar sound assembling breakbeat, industrial and drum’n’bass rhythmics, poisoning it with punk and hardcore guitar riffs. Heightening their frenzied musical menace with brutal vocals by two singers was the next step. MATAMACHETE unleashes a musical fury and a disturbing sonic pressure which combines elements that would appeal to fans of PITCHSHIFTER, PRONG, STATIC-X, MARILYN MANSON..... By this ambiguous device they bring disorder, noise and nihilism in our beloved society. Released on D-Trash and available July 18th, 2008.

OUR HOT PICKS FOR THE WEEK.... HIVE RECORDS (AGAIN CAUSE THEY RULE!!)

PANIC LIFT "WITNESS TO OUR COLLAPSE"
Absolutely essential, Panic Lift’s sophomore effort after the EP Dancing Through the Ashes is a monumental collection of songs, nearly any of which could stand on their own as singles. With the concussive force of a runaway supercollider, Panic Lift exploded onto the industrial music scene in 2006, and they instantly careened to the forefront of the NYC industrial music scene. Word of mouth and their live shows across the Northeast and California saw the debut EP quickly sell out, leaving fans waiting in anticipation of a full-length album. And now Hive Records is pleased to release Witness to Our Collapse, a masterpiece of storming beats, memory-searing hooks and flawless production.

Equally destructive on the dancefloor as it is with more reflective listening, this album is a testament to the ideology that industrial music can be both agressive and epic, as well as carefully crafted. The songwriting transcends the repetitive, predictable cliches of current cookie-cutter releases in the hard electronic scene and proves that the future of industrial music is here, and it’s going to kick you right in the fucking face.

Pounding, chestplate-stomping beats and pulsing throbs of bass send convulsions through your body, while the razorwire synth lines and emotive fragments of piano and guitar pull a wicked smile across your face. Featuring more than a couple of surprises, this is not an album to be missed, and will set the bar irretrievably high for other acts in the EBM and electro-industrial scene. Released on Hive and available August 26, 2008.

GENCAB "II TRANSMUTER"
Defying and redefining the conventions of electronic music, genCAB presents his explosive, brilliant debut on Hive Records, II transMuter. Flawlessly meshing glass-sharp shards of glitchy industrial aggression with delicate melody and painfully personal vocals, genCAB reconfigures fragments of trance, EBM, and distorted IDM into a whole new genre.

II transMuter is the new evolution of industrial music, a rewired and genetically enhanced archetype that gives a nod towards forbears such as Gridlock, NCC and Haujobb, then fiercely breaks free from all points of reference, spraying a swarm of chest-kicking rhythm and complex electronics in all directions. But this album is also a meshwork of emotions and synthetics, a liquid amalgamation of torn-open human emotion, brutally honest lyrics, and a shrieking heart at the center of it all. Reconfiguring the tired mechanics and flawed engineering of modern industrial music, II transMuter is a new breed of divergent electronic dance music and an absolutely stunning debut by genCAB. Released on Hive and available August 26th, 2008.

AUTOCLAV1.1 "LOVE NO LONGER LIVES HERE"
Since 2004, Tony Young, aka: Autoclav1.1 has had numerous successes including two EP’s, two albums ‘You are my all and more‘ [Crunchpod] and ‘Visitor Attractions’ [Crunchpod], and more recently a remix album ‘Broken Beats for Broken Hearts‘ [Hive Records], all of which have cemented Autoclav1.1 as one of the more prolific artists on the scene. Fusing huge orchestral compositions and IDM with flashes of Industrial and modern Electronica, Autoclav1.1 is quickly gaining a reputation for pulling on the deepest of human emotions with a variety of melodies and real-time instrumentation frequently torn apart by paranoid beatwork and broken rhythmical structures.

On ‘Love no Longer Lives Here’, his third and latest studio album and first for rising US label Tympanik Audio, Young changes the goal posts once more and treads some new waters without forgetting his roots. More emphasis has been placed on heart rendering piano sections and soul capturing melodies. The introduction of more organic instruments are thrown into the mix with a splash of guitars and affectionate nods to other musical genres which add a new dimension altogether, displaying a maturity and growth that we have come to expect with each Autoclav1.1 release.  The album includes guest appearances from Jamie of ESA (Electronic Substance Abuse) and Dave from Cradle of Filth, and highlights Autoclav1.1’s diversity and willingness to work within different musical scopes. Released on Tympanik and available July 18th, 2008.

IONIC VISION "BITTER ISOLATION"
Often misjudged for being part of the new batch of EBM bands, Ionic Vision has always been at the forefront of modern EBM since 1992. Honing aggression, angst and electronic terror from their cold machinery, they proudly present you their fourth full studio album “Bitter Isolation”. An album that perfectly reflects Ionic Vision’s feelings and sounds in the blessed year 2008.

From their early EBM cradle of “Rage against the acoustic” (ION002-1997) over the extreme raw and brutal “NeuMaschinen” (ION006-2000), to the high tech bashing “Actual” (ION009-2005), they now created the perfect blend of all these earlier releases. “Bitter Isolation (ION011)” touches everything from their root EBM (in songs like “Take Cover” or “Die Macht”) to raw and undistinguished EBM (in songs like “New Breed” or “Remembrance”) and their high tech standard (tracks like “Insects” or “Visions of Order”). All musical aspects of what Ionic Vision stands for, still focused on Electronic Body Music in its deepest essence, can be found on “Bitter Isolation”.

“Bitter Isolation” not only reflects Ionic Vision’s aural past, the title of the album directly faces critics with the band’s current status, feeling quite bitter in their isolated environment. As advocates of the EBM genre for years, Ionic Vision is currently the only EBM band that never ceased existing in over 16 years, struggling hard to keep the EBM genre alive ever since. In their continuous battle for recognition, Ionic Vision have always been pushed back by critics.

It is time to accept that EBM is still alive, time to lift Ionic Vision out of their bitter isolation, to acknowledge that Ionic Vision is, together with some of their ancestors, a source of inspiration for many of the current EBM movement and still to come.  It is time to leave these guilty by association tags in the past and move on! Released on Machineries of Joy and available July 18th, 2008.

EMILIE AUTUMN "GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN / BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY"
In her emotionally charged and absolutely incomparable "Victoriandustrial" style, studded with killer beats and spattered with violins and harpsichords, Emilie Autumn mesmerizes us once more. Never one to play by the rules, Emilie Autumn ignores the standard release schedule established by other artists, and offers up her deliciously ironic renditions of two of the most notorious songs of all time. To the tune of this badass, broken-doll burlesque, the Asylum is opening, the inmates have escaped, and revenge is just around the corner... While shamelessly showing off her bizarrely wide vocal range, Emilie Autumn's Asylum world becomes ever more real for us with every note, and by injecting her perverse brand of humor into the deadliest of subjects, Emilie Autumn turns the gothic world on its head, and it's about damned time. Wonderful release with luxurious 6-panel digipak and a 12-pages booklet with backstage insights into the Asylum, strictly limited to 3,000 copies world-wide. Released on Trisol and available late August.

FRONT 242 "MOMENTS..."
The use of computers has drastically transformed music production in the past 20 years; creation in this way is now totally integrated thanks to user friendly technology.  Front242 comes from a different time, when working with electronic music was difficult, the machines were hostile and humans needed to interact strongly with synthesizers to master their art  - Music required discipline. After years of digital “uber alles”, analogue synthesis and technology has made a comeback. Aware of a time where research and sound design was important, new brands have appeared and some older synthesizer brands refined the analogue technology on contemporary synthesizers, with modern components and a sophisticated sound. Front242 decided to re-load their old analogue sequences into this new generation of synthesizers and carefully re-designed all the sounds to match the spirit of their time. The result was proposed on a worldwide “Vintage Tour” that is still running today. To satisfy their fans, but also the curiosity of numbers of listeners interested in the early electronic music atmosphere ; we invite you to discover this exceptional “Live” recording encompassing the very best of Front242’s compositions.
