A Blutengel-concert is always an
extraordinary and highly special affair – with its dark atmosphere, the
theatrical performance and the energy and spirit that the catchy
Gothic-tunes
evoke in an audience, resulting in them collectively going crazy over the
music.
A Blutengel-concert is like an audiovisual experience in cinemascope. It
was,
thus, rather obvious that a documentation of Blutengel’s “Labyrinth”-tour
would
have to be on DVD. And, as every shows unfolds a highly unique atmosphere
of its
own in the combination of the band’s performance at a given evening, the
location and the local crowd, the band decided to use material from not
just one
but from four shows for creating this new concert film. Thus, “Moments of
Our
LIVEs” not only makes you relive a show from that tour… it also documents
the
“tour feeling” in conveying the atmosphere of the places where the songs
were
recorded. It goes without saying that the set list includes all of
Blutengel’s
big hits, such as “Seelenschmerz” and “Lucifer”, to name but a few, plus
energetic live performances of some of the group’s most wanted rarities:
“Vampire Romance” and “Black Roses.” But there is much more than just the
song
selection that will please the fans: the set includes a second DVD with
loads of
exclusive material, behind the scenes shots (backstage videos, sound check
recordings, blooper-reel, Blutengel interviewing fans), video clips and
much
more. Those craving for even more will also have a choice of two limited
editions. Both will include the double DVD plus an exclusive live CD and a
splendidly designed 20-page-booklet, all packed in a beautiful Digipak.
The
ultra-limited FanBox will furthermore include an exclusive t-shirt (only

VARIOUS "MY DEAR FREAKS VOLUME 2"
After the great reception that took the first edition of the compilation, for next September, will be on the street the second version. Again with the best selection of spanish bands, within the genres of the darkest scene. Dark Folk, Neo Folk, Medieval, Post Industrial, and a long list of styles that will delight the most demanding ears. As the novelty will include two bands invited from outside our borders, on the one hand the wonderful Kutna Hora, from Argentina and another in The Joy Of Nature, a band from Portugal which is already giving a lot to talk. The rights to the 1986 release Empetus reverted back to Steve; this -
along
with some recently discovered "lost pieces" - inspired this 2-CD
Collector's
Edition. The second disc, entitled The Early Years, features two amazing
long-form sequencer pieces circa 1982. The first piece, "Harmonia Mundi,"
was
recorded live in the L.A.-based Timeroom with Swiss-born electronic
musician
Thomas Ronkin. At 45 minutes, this is one of the more possessed and
intense
analog sequencer trance pieces you're likely to hear. "Release" is a
24-minute
solo
statement of emotion and energy connected to the early years of Steve's
evolution in
sound, harkening to Now and Traveler. By the time Empetus was released,
the approach of these longer German School styles were morphing into a new
sound heard on Empetus and beyond. Empetus Full blown sequencer-based
music illustrating
a further
evolution in the
visceral
side of Roach's music. Nine precise pieces that still sound
fresh

Revue Noir is the dramatic collaboration between dark cabaret chanteuse Nicki Jaine and Black tape for a blue girl leader Sam Rosenthal. Residing somewhere between rock, cabaret and torch singer, Nicki's captivating performance embodies the decadence and sorrow that filled the nights of pre-WWII Europe. Her direct, passionate delivery implores, seduces and screams out, setting a mood of desire and despair. Arranging vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, electronics, drums and violin, Sam brings together the diverse elements to create a nurturing environment for Nicki's performance. This charismatic group creates intense, narrative-driven songs; their emotional Weimar Republic-inspired expressionism captures the essence of an era when the world - externally and internally - was crumbling and all that was left was losing oneself in beauty and debauchery. Painfully direct and honest, this world is populated by lovers and friends who betray, disappoint, and unexpectedly disappear, leaving the storyteller adrift and worse for wear. Along with the 10 original compositions are versions of The Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties," David Bowie's "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide" and the Brecht/Weill classic "Alabama Song." Within the originals are three tracks Sam first recorded with Black tape for a blue girl. Released on Projekt and available September 5th, 2008.
