CHAMBER "DIX ANS"
With 18 fine pearls on this CD, the black chamber orchestra of mastermind Max Testory finally presents a definitive overview of 10 years’ work. ‘Dix Ans’ impressively demonstrates the special position in the gothic scene that Chamber have earned in such a short time. So here it is: their ultimate showcase of work, which illuminates every important phase of the chamber orchestra; sometimes in alternative, new versions. BLACK HEAVEN "HISTORY"
BLACK HEAVEN is the side project from Mantus, and for the first time they present an extensive history on double CD, which shouldn’t be regarded as a ‘best of’ in the accepted sense. A retrospective which makes clear that BLACK HEAVEN have until now been unfairly underestimated. BLACK HEAVEN is the other side of the coin. It is not the opposite of MANTUS, but neither is it a sphere in which the musicians ‘just want to mess about’, as is so often the case with side projects. With its lyrical depth, BLACK HEAVEN is also certainly beyond all cliches; from pure dark poetry to the contrasting voices of Martin Schindler and Thalia. In contrast to the main project of the two protagonists, BLACK HEAVEN is more electronically-orientated and dispenses with the rock guitars and bombastic classical arrangements without losing itself in EBM stamping or standard futurepop pap. BLACK HEAVEN is the convincing attempt to drag intelligent, poetic lyrics out of the self-absorption of the lonely bedroom and onto the dancefloors of the clubs. The perfect mixture of rhythm, delicate sequences, danceable sounds and the lyricism which we already know from MANTUS. Dark vignettes which on the one hand, due to the unusual rhythms have a certain light-heartedness, but which on the other hand become emphasised due to the reduction in the musical elements. No MANTUS fan should ignore this ‘history’, for BLACK HEAVEN have musical and lyrical surprises up their sleeves which simply have to be experienced. WOLFENMOND "NEUMOND"
With each new creation there is that magical point where the first pen-stroke is pulled across the parchment, the first drops moisten the mortar and the clocks are turned back. Each cycle of the moon also firstly begins with darkness: the new moon (in German, der Neumond). With their new work, the musicians from WOLFENMOND conclude all of the phases of the moon that we have experienced with them over the last ten years. The mixture of electronic sounds and historical instruments represents a new beginning with which WOLFENMOND inaugurate a new cycle. The listener will be transfixed by the five titles appearing here in a new guise. The title track ‘Neumond’ comes across with the usual expressive lyrics and sounds of the shawm (a predecessor of the oboe) but also with electronic sounds, and spectacularly demonstrates the new paths which WOLFENMOND propose to follow. But the musicians from WOLFENMOND don’t go along these paths alone. Artists such as Ingo Hampf from SUBWAY TO SALLY, Nicholas Albanis from DANDELION WINE (from Australia) and Matthias Ambré from ASP as well as further high-calibre artists have picked up their idea and have combined WOLFENMOND pieces with electronic sounds. 14 musical creations make ‘Neumond’ a total work of art of new energy and WOLFENMOND. FORREST FANG "PHANTOMS"
"Fang produces soundscapes suffused with peace and a sense of floating and drifting beauty that are wondrous to explore." - Alternative Music Press. Phantoms is Forrest Fang’s 9th solo album and the follow-up to his Projekt release, Gongland. Nearly eight years in the making, Phantoms builds on the gamelan-influenced soundscapes of its predecessor by weaving organic sounds of non-Western stringed and percussion instruments and filtering those sounds through a rich melodic tapestry of warm and vaporous atmospheres. Fang’s subtly layered and continually evolving textures combine his Asian influences with his love of fractal algorithms that reflect the chaotic beauty of nature. The ambiences of Phantoms evoke a state of contemplation within a world in flux. The centerpiece of the album is a 23-minute ambient suite — “The Hallucinations of Hung Tung” — inspired by the otherworldly paintings of a Taiwanese fisherman and outsider artist. LISA HAMMER "DAKINI"
Dakini takes the celestial voice of filmmaker Lisa Hammer and layers it with drones, ragas, tribal drums and folk music to create a roller coaster of emotions: a cultural and spiritual mix of Indian, medieval and modern ambience. Dakini is a new revelation for the fans of Lisa’s previous work as vocalist for Mors Syphilitica & Requiem in White. A departure from tradition, an enlightened development in her musical path. A dakini is an elusive tantric deity that might best be described as a female embodiment of enlightened energy - "she who traverses the sky" or "she who moves in space." She is also depicted as wrathful in that she cuts through human ego and ignorance with a vengeance. Her feminine powers are very strong: generally volatile or wrathful, though also seen as a muse (or inspirational thoughtform) for spiritual practice. Dakinis are energetic beings in female form, evocative of the movement of energy in space. In this context, the sky or space indicates the insubstantiality of all phenomena, which is, at the same time, the pure potentiality for all possible manifestations. HAUJOBB - HOMES & GARDENS 2.0 (2CD REMASTERED SPECIAL EDITION)

Having Artoffact Records partners with German label Dependent to release classic Haujobb!

End of June will see a physical release of Homes & Gardens 2.0 as a double CD along with the four track Homes & Gardens MCD as a bonus, limited to 500 copies only. This will be available through Dependent’s website in Europe, while Artoffact will handle the North American version. Only 250 copies will be made available to the North American market, so act fast! The remastered digital version of the album has just been made available through various online portals like iTunes, Musicload and Amazon in Europe, and a North American digital release will be distributed soon. After the announcement of the release, fans demanded a physical version, so Artoffact teamed up with Dependent Records to make this possible for North America. The original Homes & Gardens, released in 1993 on Off Beat, has been out of print for years. The new re-release will come in a triple-gatefold limited pak with stellar artwork and fantastic high-quality remastering. A must-have for fans!
