Hey folks..... just pulled the lid of the QY (70) and guess what? People are
right..... there is a small, STANDARD SONY CR2032 lithium backup battery,
sitting there in all it's 3volt glory, in a nice socket (not soldered)
directly below the midi/pc1/pc2/mac switch.
You simply remove the back cover, and can gain access straight away, it's
very easy to get to.
So rest easy :) when you need to replace, you can.
Just a comment...... does anyone know the XG soundset generator chip thingy
what number it is? Because i'm thinking, maybe the QY eats batteries because
it's merely the XG sound generator chip that was made for keyboards and
modules, where power isn't a concern.
Like if they put a desktop PC processor in a notebook.
i love my QY.
i actually think the weakest part is the volume slider.... i know it's going
to get crackly 5 years or so down the track.
oh well, i'll trade up to a QYX-1700, complete with velocity keys, faders,
full sampling, backlit touch lcd, knobs everywhere........
