I totally like it…. Doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it sure seems like what I hear. I always thought the “mousetrap is laid”… kind of poetic… and that last syllable is totally squashed by the music, so you can’t really tell, but “near” rhymes better with “beer” so I buy it your way. Still, would be nice if one of the guys had some scrap of paper that could put a definitive stop to all the speculation… And it’s still one helluva song!
