I can't believe that this is our 7th year already!

The Ricochet Dream label released in April:

Both releases are selling well and are limited to 300 copies.
I have to note that I had feedback from one seller asking about some noise
at the beginning of the first track of the Steve Jolliffe CD. This was some
noise from the chair and open microphone that Steve was using as he started
the concert. I guess it could have been removed, but Steve left it in. Your
comments are always appreciated.

2006 seems to be the year of the 300 edition limited release.
In late May, two new releases on Ricochet Dream will appear:

that they left Berlin yesterday.

I'm selling the last 5 remaining copies of "Art of Minimalism" for only $10
each .
I was asked by Steve to no longer sell these and you will NOT find "Art of

is the first and last time I am making this announcment. The CDr is a
slightly different mix from the original and comes in a sleeve with artwork.

The Ricochet Gathering 2006 in Italy is under way! We are having a wonderful
time and are recording some fantastic original EM.

Important: After June 12, the CD shop will be open for shipping, until then,

The Ricochet Gathering musicians and fans returned home this last week from
the Ricochet Gathering Rubycon 2006 held in Tuscany region, Italy. The event
was quite successful and photos and stories will be added to the website as
they become available. The music will also be released, but probably not
until early next year. I am currently working on a 4-CDR demo of Gomera 2005
and a box set of the first three years at Okefenokee 2000-2002.

Also, the CD inventory on the website has been updated and all items listed
are up-to-date.

The Ricochet Dream website has been up & down over the last few days as I
transition to a new web hosting provider. I had last minute notice to change
while I was on travel, so hopefully within the next week the website will be
back and all updated - the holiday weekend in USA will not help this. So
don't worry, if the www.ricochetdream.com website is down - it will be back

I have received many new orders for Tangerine Dream "Blue Dawn", so another
order to Berlin is on place - please be patient.

Also, I just received in stock the new Ashra "Manuel Goettching" Joaquin Joe
Claussell meet MG. This features classic tracks from old Ashra such as

The RG 2005 Gomera down select has been completed. I have selected tracks to
fill a 4CDr limited numbered (#'d) demo. I was hoping to finish this by the
end of August and I am close.  The selections are from the improvised
recordings. We also have concerts from AirSculpture and Star Sounds
Orchestra. And I'm still hoping to include a cut from the whistlers. The
music from Gomera reflects the atmosphere that was there: warm, sunny,
easy-going. This music is very unique and was an excursion from the retro
music that Ricochet Dream is normally known for.

I am taking pre-orders now for $45 a set. The proceeds from this release go
to cover the rental of the Castillo in Gomera where we played.

I just returned from Berlin and the great "40 Years Roadmap to Music"
concert. The Concert rated a solid "A" for all fans and critics alike. TD
delivered what we've been asking for the last 10 years!!!

As for NEW MUSIC:

I will be stocking the new TD releases that were offered at the concert.
I brought back a few, but they evaporated :)

Side Notes (of a personal nature):
I was blessed to meet with many Berlin School musicians, such as Edgar
Froese and the entire (almost) Tangerine Dream band. I also met with Manuel
Gottsching (Ashra), Conrad Schnitzler, Wolfgang Seidel in Berlin. I also had
a wonderful opportunity to see the famous Jozef Skrzek (SBB) in Warsaw and
then follow it up with a two-hour program interview in Warsaw with the
famous Jerzy Kordowicz who did the Poland TD concert introduction. We talked
a lot about EM and the Ricochet Gathering and this program airs from
0200-0400 October 10 (European Central Time - meaning Monday late night to
many).  Note: If you are in USA, you can get it via music stream from Radio

on what's new.

RICOCHET GATHERING GOMERA 2005 DEMO:
Yes, Yes, I've been talking about releasing this for many months. I have a
list of the pre-orders, but feel free to check in.
Right now I am reviewing the final 4CDrs and making some minor editing
changes and next week I will complete the graphics, so by the time you get
the next Newsletter, this release will be available. This release will be
limited to 77 numbered 4CDR copies and will come in a QUAD CD case. The
price is $45 per set. I must add that this release is top studio quality
even though recorded live without rehearsal. Pre-paid orders will of course
get the lower numbered edition. ~~~ As far as what to expect on this
release: You'll hear underwater recordings made by a special Star Sounds
Orchestra microphone, warm summer's end EM, one of Jozef Skrzek's greatest
moments, EM jams with Bill Fox's sutble guitar techniques, and much more. In
Gomera we created what I term "Contemporary EM", which has a "sunny" feel to
the music (more Berlin sequences coming on Ricochet Gathering Rubycon 2006).
Also, I ask that you do not copy this music. The profits from the demo will
cover some significant costs to still keep this Concept going. Thanks for

The Gomera music has been released this week. I'm quite busy with
manufacturing so it may take a few days to ship. Most likely, I'll be
shipping orders on Monday 10/16.
All musicians that were at Gomera will receive a free promo set for
evaluation.

After almost a year from the Gomera event, the DEMO 4CDR sets are shipping
this week.
I thank everyone up front for being patient, because many times we forget
how time intensive it is to get a quality release out to the public. This
limited 4CDR demo set for $45 ea. (or 40 Euro) is limited to 77 numbered
copies and I have to put little effort into selling these. If you want to
hear about 5 hours of contemporary EM that you've never imagined - this is
it!

The Value of the DOLLAR: Since almost all the music I purchase is from
Germany (mainly TDI) and I have to pay high postage and CD prices in EURO
(at an all time high against the dollar), in 2007 I will have to increase

Greetings EM Fans,

Lot's of great stuff going on in the Berlin School EM realm.
I just returned home after an exhausting week of city hopping from New York
to Berlin to Washington.

So let's start with Berlin:
I was there mainly to meet musicians, VJ Kinga and attend the Manuel
Gottsching 25th anniversay concert of the famous EM classic E2-E4. The
weather was cold and rainly, but not too bad. Everyone wore black and was in
good spirits. I had many meetings planned, but thank God that I had a
cellphone because all plans were so fluid. What was promised before the trip
changed in the last minutes, but that's to be expected. I had periods of
lull to pretend I was a Berliner, then I had periods of intense exposure to
musicians and EM.

I managed to spend almost a whole day at Conrad Schnitzler's home and we
hung out, ate, chatted and listened to plenty of CON's releases. I always
enjoy visting Conrad since he's on the outshirts of Berlin and I have to
take this Regional Express that puts me at this little desolate station,
where safety is questionable, as I usually catch one of the last trains back
to Berlin  ;-)

I was disappointed to miss a Berlin DJ meeting at my hotel when I just
happened to step out for a late night bite. But other wonderful things
happened in Berlin. I have to say that Berlin is VERY much into Christmas
and all the main streets were beautifully lit up with lights and decorations
everywhere. I flew Lufthansa this time and they even had wreaths in the
aircraft. But I also was impressed at Newark, NJ customs where they had
Christams trees lit up and standing in the middle of each baggage claim
carrousel. But this time customs pulled me aside and went through my
baggage - they valued my belongings at $31.50 after I explained to them that
all the material I had was for promotion. So I lost 10 minutes, gained
nothing, but left the customs officials scratching their heads.

Now going back to Berlin meetings, after meeting with CON, the big event was
the E2-E4 concert. It was sold out and about twice as many people were
turned away from the venue with no tickets. The concert was at this
underground exclusive club named "Berghain" and it was in an old
powerstation by the Ostbahnhof (East Train Station). No photos were allowed
and my camera was once confiscated and then I had to delete pictures later
after the concert with Mario Schonwalder. The management wanted to keep this
place really underground and were acting like some kind of police - but we
knew how to deal with these situations ;-)

At the E2-E4 concert, it was quite intense. I don't want to start writing a
review here, but I have to say that it was perfection and pure ecstacy!
Everyone was swaying to the mesmerizing EM and the classic feel of Ashra.
Manuel was intense but cool and actually never said anything to the crowd
that was audible, but expressed his thankfullness via body language. I think
he was a bit nervous, but also I think it contributed to a great
performance!!! Manuel is VERY COOL!

After the concert we met some original members of Agitation Free: Lutz
"Lüül" Ulbrich & Lutz "Ludwig" Kramer .

friendly and I learned so much about the early days of Berlin School EM -
these were the guys that were part of creating it!! They played the famous
"Eruption" sessions with Conrad Schnitzler & Cluster.

Also, there were some cool fans there and friends from Japan and the well
known Germans of Wolfgang Siedel, Mario Schonwalder, Gert (from Rainbow
Serpent), Olaf Zimmerman (Radio Eins Radio), Heiko Neuman (runs the Ashra
shop at www.tribute-to-ashra.de). I know that I missed a few names, but it
was information and stimulation overload. I had the opportunity to hang out
with Ashra late into the night... Have to mention that I got to meet with
Kinga the great Polish VJ! The 3AM trip back to the hotel was quite an
intense experience.

After that (4 hours later), I flew back to New York just in time to answer
some angry emails about how come I have not answered emails! All, please
understand that email take lot's of time and thought and sometimes you
cannot expect an answer in 10 minutes. Maybe after 10 days you should follow
up. So then I left to Washington on non-EM business and now I'm back home in
the New York area. I turned on the lights (on the tree), turned up the music
and now I continue to start looking at all the new TD orders! If you have
written me about TD order, I will get back to you in the next few days.
Don't worry, your order will be processed, but I cannot say that it will be
at your doorstep before Christmas. Please give me a break during this hectic
time :)
