Hi All,

Sorry, put some pics on then had to leave my computer, I will add a few
more "informal" pics but I am in the process of writing a "diary" of
the UK tour with pictures which will be added to the UK website. This
may take some time as a) I am still catching up with my "normal" life
and indeed sleep, and b) according to Robby I don't type very quickly,
but hey my spelling is better than his!! I will tho try very hard to
get it all finished before we fly out to Eygpt on the 9th Nov. So
please bear with me, two weeks of Robby, Paul and Paul the drummer has
sent my head in a spin, its a long time snce I laughed so much. Oh and
by the way the lady in the photo taken at the dinner table at The
Chequers with Robby, is Kathy the drummers partner, and oh boy was I
glad to have some female company on tour. The only downside being I had
three guys with me in our car, she only had to cope with one!!

Keep checking back for more pics and news of the tour diary.

Wendy

Hi Gareth,

I was hoping someone would post an answer because I don't know this
one! (HA!) The only thing I can think of that might be causing
problems with uploading your pictures might be because the picture
is too big? Maybe you can re-size it? Sure hope you can get them
loaded SOON! *smile!*

If you have trouble loading videos here (does this program even
allow videos?), why not upload them to YouTube? (Can you tell I'm
totally excited to see all these things??? *grin!*)

By the way, what songs did Robby play in his show? Was it one long
set, or maybe a couple sets? I have a feeling I'm not the only one
who wishes we could have been there with you!

Thanks for at least trying to share everything with us! I, for one,
appreciate it!  {:->)

Okay. So, since it was shared with me, I want to share it with all
of Robby's fans! Below is the link to the BBC Radio Derby interview
Robby did on Sunday, October 19th.

Now, you can listen to the whole show, or you can skip right to the
interview by following these steps:

1. you will probably get a little pop-up box asking if you want to
start listening from the beginning or from where you left off,
click "from the beginning" (I think it's either "okay" or "cancel" --
whichever one gets you there! HA!).
2. once at the beginning click on the "+15" five times and then
click on the "+5" once.
3. don't know if it's particular to my computer or not, but it
seemed to have lower volume, so turn up the volume on your computer,
wait just a few seconds, and ... VOILA! ROBBY VEE -- TALKING!!

One last note: after they interview Robby, they play his dad's
song, "Sharing You," and then, after the song, they mention Robby
again, so hang in there for the "end" of it! Pretty cool!

ENJOY!

We have now come to the end of the UK tour---sadly, but it has been a
fun fun fun time, we spent a lot of time on the road and bedtimes
have been around the 4am mark, then up and out again less than 12
hours later.

Thank you to all the folk that turned out, some on two or three
occaisions, and to those that wanted me to keep in touch re Robby in
the UK I will I promise contact you soon. I will update the UK
website and include comments from the shows on the home page, using
the venue links. Show photos will also go up as soon as I can get to
my computer for more than five minutes. Thank you to everyone who has
emailed me pix, I will sort thru and get some of them up.

Last night was great-----my party and so many friends family and of
course many other fans who wanted to join us----a wonderful evening.
I had an amazing arrngement of flowers presented to me on stage, and
the appreciation of not only the band but from everyone in the room
made me very emotional. Thank you thank you thank you, will miss you
guys, sooo many funny moments, and teasing the only girl in the "car"
but will see you again before too long----BIG BIG hugs for Robby ,
Paul and Paul our drummer, Kathy, all the venues and a special BIG
thank you to all of you in the States who have kept in touch with
good luck messages etc. A very big thank you has to go to David who
drove some two and a half thousand miles in two weeks---- and to Andy
Potter at Radio Derby who rang me at the last minute for a phone
interview, Robby upstairs on the phone, the rest of us downstairs
round the radio!! HAPPY TIMES AND MEMORIES

Hi there!

Did anyone catch Robby being interviewed on BBC Radio Derby UK at
3:15pm today? Does anyone know if it will be re-broadcast??

Turns out BBC Radio Derby is online and I could have listened! :(
Wish I would have known about it. Did anyone hear it, tho? How was
it? Was Robby brilliant?? *smile!*

If anyone knows of any other interviews like that, could you let us
know, please? I have a feeling I'm not alone in wanting to hear it!

Hope all the shows have gone well in the UK!!

Keep it rockin'!

Hi Everyone,

We have completed the first week of Robby's tour and we are having
sooooo much fun. I have discovered taking photos ----no problem, but
actually finding time to download them is another thing entirely! We
are generally on the road until the early hours getting home no
earlier than 2am, we then have this team effort to get everything out
of the car, yes even a Rock Star has to pull his weight, then time to
unwind, a 4am bedtime is becoming the norm!! As the dawn broke
Saturday morning, I confess to saying----"Have you seen the time"
three guys scuttled up the stairs----!!!! Needless to say being the
only girl around the place I get teased terribly, but I dont mind
I'll get my own back in my own good time!

The shows have been so much fun and fans, both old and new have
enjoyed not only Robby's performance but chatting to him afterwards.
I too have met some wonderful people all wanting to see as much of
Robby as possible and many of them are going to two or even three
shows. Nice to get a network of Robby Vee fans going UK side!!

We are now having two days "rest" tho for me its catch up time, we
have Rosie and Jamie with us later, they came Saturday to see Robby
and have been busy telling their Mum, Dad and schoolfriends that they
are going to be riding animals on stage, apparently Robby is on the
elephant------yes he is the BIG kid who thought of all this----Rosie
on a giraffe, and Jamie on a guinea pig-----watch this space! All I
can say is the Derby show is going to be GREAT fun, its almost sold
out so there are lots of Derby folk wanting to see ROBBY VEE!

This wednesday we are at The Chequers with Gareth, met him last
night, what a great guy, he too is expecting a lot of people and
indeed his boss is begining to panic!! No worries Gareth we know what
a great night we will be having, GREAT company GREAT performance and
GREAT food------Gareth has got me out of----for one night only---
picnic packing!

Not only is Robby wowing folk with his performances we are selling
lots of CDs so everyone can can continue to enjoy the great music and
will be looking out for future tours-----did I say I would do all
this again--hmmmmm! If 4 years ago anyone had told me I would have
Paul cooking hamburgers on the barbie and Robby in the kitchen
washing up, would I of believed them------possibly not, but I am
going to miss these guys when they go, so yep guess I would do it all
over again!

I have asked Robby to blog--- when he gets up!! So just check that
out later in the day. He is trying to teach me the art of concise
emails---well how am I doing so far?????!! Best go then!

Wendy

Golly so much to do and so little time-----just two weeks today and
we will be on airport duty, can't just think where the last few weeks
have gone. Sadly I don't think that Robby will be doing any private
concerts for me and David LOL---- maybe in the limited free time but
then Rosie and Jamie want to muscle in!

Being busy has kept me out of this website, so thank you for the
Birthday Greetings, Linda and Charlie as always, left them elsewhere
too! Seems long time ago now, but in spite of the very sudden loss
of my uncle I did enjoy my day.
A huge thank you to Ruth, who contacted me re a hitch with the
tickets in Doncaster, this gig has been well promoted but the tickets
werent available THEY ARE NOW Tony at The Leopard did a 24 hour turn
around on them, the delay was due to a baby, and we ALL know Babies
rule LOL, the tickets are now available from the bar or by phoning
01302 363054.

Thank you too to Kim who has been helping me with the promotion,
apparently I'm going to draw up a list of all the best sites, and
regional press and radio for us to refer to in the future-----now I
wonder who had that good idea????????

We now have soundcheck times and some idea of the facilities for the
band at each venue. It seems we are to be made comfortable, I am
especially looking forward to The Chequers, Gareth has been sharing
with me some info on his cooking skills. For those of you that don't
know Gareth is head chef at The Chequers, and he has trained and
worked with some of our top chefs over here. I am looking for tips
for serving the family Christmas dinner, well that and the Sunday
roast, David does ALL the rest of the cooking-----(Wendy hangs her
head in shame) My organisation in the kitchen is about as good as my
guitar playing-----need I say more!!!!!!

I have rambled enough, I will try to update everyone ----maybe tho
briefly---on each gig, and will get pics onto the UK site as soon as
possible, -----seems we have an army of would be "photographers", who
not only want to take pictures of Robby but want to have their
picture taken with him!!! Bear with us tho as our days and evenings
will be looooooooong and our nights somewhat short!

For those of you in the UK -----SEE YOU AT THE GIGS!!!

Wendy.

Hey Amy!

Ahhhhh ... Media Play! I seem to recall that place! It's not there
anymore, tho, is it? And ya know, I thought I recognized the
name "Lattanzi" from somewhere! I didn't realize HE was the one who
was married to Olivia Newton-John, but I've seen pictures of the
daughter. Amy, you ARE the "Trivia QUEEN!" *smile!* Thanks for
all that info -- I LOVE it! Also, thanks for checking out the DVD
copy thing. I really appreciate it! (And nope ... won't hold you
to anything! *grin!*)

Thanks again!

Hi All,

Being doing a bit of researchg trying to find a copy of this and came
up trumps on Amazon. With a bit of look i will have watched it before
Robby hits our shores.
I have put a couple of links for you to follow. One is on You Tube and
the other is the Amazon link where i bought my copy from.
Theres a few mixed reviews out there for this film but i'll reserve
judgement till i see it lol.

Jude,
I have had the movie since 1993 or 1994. I purchased it when I was working at
Media Play in St. Cloud. If I have some time this weekend I will see if my
vcr/dvd combo records it well enough to send you a copy to watch for yourself.
No promises on that though, as I am not even sure if it will copy good enough.
The movie itself is done well. Did you know that Matt Lattanzi used to be
married to Olivia Newton-John and they have a daughter together? I remember that
much about the movie.
Amy

Thanks so much for this information Amy, wonder if we will be able to
find a copy over here. Certainly the story line isnt the same as the
more recent film of this title, wonder how they managed using this
again as it is not a remake--- My son in law works in the cinema
industry---as in where we watch them rather than the making ---LOL. I
will ask him to check his archives to see if it was screened here and
if he can source it. From the back of the box it looks as tho it was
made in 1989, seems a very long time ago, its not very clear it maybe
1999???

I will tho add this to the list of what to ask Robby while he is
over, maybe this is a story for one of our long car journeys's!!

Wendy

Wow! Bringing back memories for me. I had to go dig out my copy of
the movie! (I did scan the front and back covers for anyone who
wanted to see it). My aunts and I were so excited about the filming
of the movie in St. Cloud and the cities. We were on top of who,
what, where, when and why for this movie. I wish I could remember
more information on it. I do remember that the whole Vee clan was in
the movie. Jenny is in one of the opening scenes. Jeff, Tom and Robby
are in the school dance scene. If I remember correctly they were only
on for a few short seconds, they are going on break if memory serves
me correctly, but they are in the movie!
I may have to watch the movie one night after work this week; see if
I can make a DVD copy of the movie.

Maybe Robby can tell us what he remembers about the movie?

Hope my information helps a little.

Hi Wendy,

Oops! Hadn't read the other posts yet, so I didn't see your post
until now -- so I apologize for not responding to you and Gareth both
at the same time! :(

You'll definitely have to ask Robby what it was like making the
movie! It was filmed in Minnesota, after all!

Anyway, hope the info helped you, too! *smile!*

Keep it rockin'!

Hi Gareth,

I finally had a minute to find your information for you. I'm guessing
the one you just saw had Leonardo DiCaprio in it? That one was
released in 2002. I had looked this up for The Vees Fan Club a few
years back, but couldn't remember to tell you more until I had a
chance to look it up. I'm really sorry for that.

Anyway, the one you're looking for was released internationally in
1989 and starred Matt Lattanzi. I don't know if it's ever been shown
on television, actually, because it didn't make the "big splash" in
the theatres that Leonardo's movie did! (I don't think it's ever been
shown on TV here in the States, either, actually -- even on late-nite!)

Here's the plot summary (from IMDb):

"A hotshot, teenage car racer persuades the class president of a small
Minnesota high school to gamble on illegal car races to raise money
for their school facing closure."

Sounds more like a 50s-type rockabilly kind of movie, doesn't it?
*grin!*

Also, I don't know that any credits were listed for the band, but
that's them playing at the dance!

If you look really hard around the internet, you might be able to find
a video tape of the movie to purchase. But, if you do, you WILL let
us know, right? *smile!*

Anyway, hope this helps? (From what I can see of the Leonardo movie,
Robby's sounds like SO much more FUN! *smile!*)

Keep it rockin'!
Jude

Hi Gareth,

I also watched the film it was on the TV fairly recently, not really my
cup of tea but thought I might glimpse Robby!!--- Most of the tracks
had previously been recorded by well known artists, Nat King Cole,
Frank Sinatra, Dusty Springfield etc, and that reflected the era the
film was set in--- based on a true life story. I suspect as there is
no other reference, that I can find, to another production of that name
then Robby may of been in a film of a similar name that was maybe made
for TV.

We should ask Robby while he is here, after all both of us will have
plenty of opportunity!! Now get that kettle on and start cooking and
I'll see you soon!!!

Wendy

Not to worry -- you're neither! The movie that Robby is in has the
same name as another movie, which I'm guessing is the one you have
found! If it doesn't have a "high school prom" dance in it with a
band, then you're watching the wrong movie! I can't remember the
other details off the top of my head, but I do remember that much.

And don't feel badly, because I had the same problem finding the
movie, until Robby told me about it once a long time ago! *smile!*

If you find the other one, by the way, could you let us know? I can't
remember where I found it, either! :(

Thanks ... and ... keep it rockin'!

Hey Ronnie!
I sure do wish I lived closer, cuz I'd meet up with you! Keep those
seats warm, tho, cuz ya never know when I might be able to find my
way back up for a visit! Then we'll rock it out together!

Hope you're able to get together with some other fans -- you can be
Robby's very own, personal "cheering section"! *smile!*

Keep it rockin'!
