Hi all,

I have an MK3 based scanner, constructed by Terry Smythe in 2005, that
is surplus to my requirements.

It's capable of scanning just about any format of piano roll, and also
various organ rolls, A,G,O rolls with certain alterations.

The technology has been superseded, and it is difficult (although not
impossible) to reconstruct the punch matrix of rolls scanned on this
equipment. It is capable of scanning the music only, not the printed
matter.

With this said, it is perfectly capable of producing acceptable MIDI
files and preserving the general intent of the musical arrangements in
CIS files. Terry is also amenable to being contacted regarding
improvements that have been made to this scanner design.

Some example files that were scanned with this scanner:

In the general spirit of the rollscanning community, I am offering two
options. If you will make your MIDI files of out-of-copyright pieces
available publicly (either through your personal website, or if you
don't wish to maintain a website, through mine, with due credit), the
price will be cost (roughly $US450) plus shipping. I can ship from
either Los Angeles or Auckland, New Zealand.

If you wish to use the scanner for commercial purposes or don't wish
to commit to sharing your files, the scanner will still be available
but the price will be higher.
