I still have a few blank MK3a boards and sufficient parts to
assemble another one.

The blank MK3a board can be modified up into MK4. This was
done by Larry when he assembled eight production MK4 scanners.
Visually a little messy, but it works just fine.

Frank Thompson <ampico@...> designed and assembled a
small run of a new custom MK4 board. Perhaps he could be
persuaded to make another small run of this one.

If your objective is to capture printed data on the roll, then
the MK4 board is necessary. At this point, capturing this
data is actually just an archival function as we still do not
have a way to migrate the printed data from the CIS file to a
finished recut roll.

If capturing printed data is not imperative, then the MK3a board
will work just fine. It will capture perforation data only.
