Re: [Rollscanners] "Green" Line for Dynamic
Hi Walter,
Since nobody else has responded, I would simply say that it is indeed
possible to introduce the necessary processing in the image to MIDI
conversion to look for a line that might represent dynamics and insert a
velocity mapping that corresponds to the dynamic direction given.
But, since it is fairly easy to insert such a velocity map manually into
the MIDI file using a program such as Cakewalk, I would personally not
want to spend the programming effort to include that in the software
unless it proves to be fairly straightforward to automate. It may turn
out to be a simple addition to the next generation processing program,
but I suspect it would still be more effort than it is worth. The AI
engine would need to account for the tremendous number of different
variations in how the dynamic directions were printed onto the rolls, if
they were at all, by the different roll manufacturers.
