George,

You might check out these:

www.fielddrums.com (same owner as the ropedrums group)

groups.yahoo.com/group/18cMusic/ (18th century fifes and drums)

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/martialmusic/ (history of fifes and drums with very knowledgeable members)

http://authentic-campaigner.com/forum (this is for serious Civil War reenactors-- look for the music sub-forum, field music is sometimes discussed)

www.cwreenactors.com//forum (similar to authentic campaigner, but more mainstream than the "hardcore"/progressive authentic campaigner-- also has music forum)

www.libertyhallfifesanddrums.com (my corps' website-- we recreate 19th century field music using unmuffled rope drums with skin heads and fife and drum manuals from the period)

Yes. Just not a lot of personal activity in that area. I have a few
CW-era rope drums, and others newer...but don't acquire 'em very fast.

Did recently pick up a "new" rope drum with Noble & Cooley shell,
outfitted by Cooperman. Bought it from a drummer in TOGFDC. Beautiful
drum.

George,

I collect a few drums, as an adjunct to collecting brass instruments.
I have not followed the Yahoo Group.

Too bad there is not more activity. I don't know of any other sites.

Best wishes,

Did the Moodus Drums and Fife Corps purchase a Eli Brown Drum from you a couple of years ago. I believe we purchased it from someone in Anchorage. Was that you?
