I thought I'd pass this on. It may be of interest to a few of you, if you're available - and if you're not a singer, it should be great to listen to! I've already passed on a few suggestions. If you have any, I'm sure Marion [Marion.Best@...] would love to hear from you....

Subject: Cantores 40-part choral workshop
Dear Mike, I thought you might be interested to know that Cantores choir is planning to host a 40-part choral music workshop on 16th October 2004 at Bootham School. We intend to work on Tallis Spem in Alium and a few other works for either 40- or 20-part choir. Marion will direct and Cantores will provide a few singers for each of the "sub-choirs" (can't remember whether it's 8 5-part choirs or 5 8-part choirs...!).
Please could you pass on this information to any of the Rudgate singers who might wish to take part. Marion suggested that I should also ask you whether you know of any other 40- or 20-part pieces, either from around the same period as Tallis or more contemporary. I think she has some ideas up her sleeve, but the more ideas we can get together the better (especially as some of these monster pieces may not be easily available to borrow).
I'd be very grateful if you could also pass on this information to Bernadette as I seem to have lost her email address in one of our all-too-frequent computer crises. Hope things are continuing to flourish with Rudgate, and many thanks for keeping me informed about your programme - perhaps I'll be able to make one of your dates before too much longer! Best wishes, Kate.
