The date is now going to be the 17th. I've already told some of you privately that this would be the case but it's best to let everybody know sooner rather than later! We're still doing Byrd 4 + appropriate Propers, but will have to find other motets than the ones I had planned for 3rd Sept due to the change of date. Parsons Ave Maria is a distinct possibility for Offertory. Communion is still undecided - suitable suggestions welcome!
For those of you who don't know, Brinkburn Priory is in Northumberland, not too far away from Rothbury. While this is by far the most distant of our singing venues to date, I can assure you that the rewards far exceed the effort taken to get there!
Depending on numbers from Yorkshire, we may consider a hire vehicle, but only if its cost effective..... There is a possibility that we could be welcoming singers from the Metropolitan Cathedral in Edinburgh too as well as North-East England.
More later but there are still two Services to do this month.

Dear Mike,
The Brinkburn Mass will have to be on the 17th. I`ll have to write to English Heritage again.

This is the provisional date for the Annual Brinkburn High Mass where we intend to sing Byrd 4 + Chant Propers. There is a possibility that the date may be changed to the 17th, but the 3rd is the day the organisers are going for.
If you've never been to [let alone sung in] Brinkburn before, all I can say is that it's in a most spectacular location, with an acoustic to die for...
If you've not sung with us for a while, or at all, then this is the one to (re)join us for!MikeThe Home of the Rudgate Singers
