Carols by Candlelight is the most popular Christmas concert in York  (it will be broadcast on Radio 2 on Christmas Eve at 11.00pm – but its not a patch on being there in the Chapter House!). The tickets go on sale in the Minster (queue at the West Door) between 9.00 and 10.30 on Saturday 3 December – but many people queue well before the published time as they usually sell out.    In the unlikely event that they do not sell out, I would have some tickets for sale – do let me know if you are interested.

However, if you definitely want to go to one of the Carols by Candlelight concerts, and don’t want to queue on 3^rd Dec, you can make sure of getting the day you want by getting a Season Ticket for £32 – this also gives you the option of ordering a second Carols ticket. 

The Season Ticket also covers a concert of French Music (Poulenc’s stunning Mass in G, and Langlais Messe Solenelle) on Saturday 19 November,  Bach’s St John Passion on 1 April (bound to be a sell-out as the Northern Sinfonia are the top chamber orchestra in the North with a dedicated following), and a concert of Yorkshire Music on Saturday 1 July.
