Many thanks to all of you who came to the Mass on Saturday. I've lost count
of the number of people who thought it was all wonderful. Personally, I'm
delighted at the way the Gregorian Chant is coming along. Ok, there were one
or two minor errors, but we're already up to the standard (if not actually
past it) of other Yorkshire based groups I know, after just two Masses,
which is very encouraging.
Bernadette was a little disappointed to find she'd missed out yet again on
the post-Mass socialising - this time held in the Tap & Spile (Monkgate,
York) - despite it being mentioned several times in conversation after Mass!
Perhaps we ought to decide in advance, pick a suitable venue, and
incorporate it into the event/service we're asked to sing for as a
post-liturgical celebration (or inquest depending on how we've done :-)).
This leads me to tell people that the Abbey Inn, Byland Abbey is highly
recommended, especially by Fr. David Grant , the Parish Priest of St
Paulinus', who has promised to buy drinks for all singers who can make it to
Byland Abbey on the 17th May for the open-air Mass for the regional
Walsingham Associations. The offer is there!
