First, wanted to let you guys know about the
upcoming concert of Ekaterina Boldyreva (Moscow). She has
successfuly performed in San Diego and Los Angeles (as well as the east
coast cities), and here comes her last concert in Southern California.
Who: Ekaterina Boldyreva. She's really cool with her great
voice and great songs, too bluesy and rocky to be considered bardy :-).
We'll call it bardrock.
When: Friday, November 4, 2005, 7:30 PM
Where: University of California, Irvine, Hall SSPA 1100.
Tickers: $10.

Second, there are plans to have a concert of legendary Umka
("Umka i Bronevichok" - http://www.umka.ru/)
on Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Los Angeles. The cult figure among
hippie and alternative crowd in Russia, "The Russian Janis Joplin",
she's sung her songs for almost twenty years, keeping spirit of classic
rock of 60's and 70's alive and smoking. Not quite sure whether
it'll be an acoustic solo gig, or the band's other members will join
her. Will keep you posted.
