Alot of people have been asking "Ryan, what have you been doing and why
haven't you updated your website?" Truth is, I've been sooo busy with
stuff that I haven't had time!
Over the past 2 months I've been working on a number of things, the
first of which is a demo CD. Though it is not done yet, it's coming
along very nicely. I've got a few more studio sessions left to go but
anticipate it being completed within the next month or so. When all is
said and done, I will put a few clips on my website that you'll be able
to listen to.
In bigger news, I've worked on the soundtrack for two films.
Coincidentally, they are both being premiered THIS TUESDAY! I lent my
trumpet talents to the independent musical film "Love Rules!" Also, I
composed and performed the soundtrack for the stop-motion animation
short film "Quoth The Raven." Here's all the info on those two
premieres on Tuesday May 18th:
"Quoth The Raven" - stop-motion animation short film
by Cynthia Danieli
Time: Between 10:00am - NOON
Place: RIT Bldg 76 Auditorium
Admission: FREE
"Love Rules" - Musical Comedy by Beth Bailey
Time: 6:00pm
Place: The Little Theatre (Rochester, NY)
Admission: $15-25 (sliding scale) to help finance Zinko Films next
production. Ticket are available at the door and price includes:
dessert reception and Q&A with the director, composer, and producer.
Story Synopsis: Mortals suffer gladly when Aphrodite intervenes to
restore love to the world after a listless Cupid clips his own wings.
A topsy-turvy debate on the nature of romance ensues in this moder,
musical myth that proves there are no easy choices when Love Rules!
Now, I have not seen any of these films in their completed states
so if you ask me how they are I can't tell you. But I DO anticipate
them being pretty good :-)
Oh! One final note...the Polished Brass will be performing right
before RIT's Convocation ceremonies sometime between 6:00pm and 7:15pm.
If you are milling around RIT for graduation or whatnot, be sure to
stop by and give us a listen :-P
*pfew!* I think that's everything so far. If anything chances I'll
be sure to keep you guys posted.
Take care!
--Ryan
PS: Congrats to all those graduating this year, especially my good
friends back at RIT. :-)
