I just came across a Barclay James Harvest concert DVD, with a concert
called Victims of Circumstance filmed live at Wembley October 13 1984.
A horrible concert movie, but guess who appeared as one of the two
ladies doing the backing vocals? Our Sam! A nice surprise indeed.

Of course, it is barely possible to see her in closeup, very low
camera time and bad picture quality. She is very energetically trying
to liven up the show, an interesting contrast to the BJH guys who keep
a fairly laid-back scene profile.

I know Sam and her mother Vicki did some backing vocal on the BJH
album of the same name (and in particular the title track, which also
exists in another, extended mix with even more of the Browns);
apparently Sam tagged along for the concert as well :)

Even if these particular pieces did not find their way into musical
history (and deservedly so) it was cool to see my two favorite
artists/groups on the same stage.

And all in true 1984 style of clothing and hairstyle -- OMG!
