Happy Birthday to Naushad Sahab !!

Padma Bhooshan, Janab Naushad Ali Sahab was born on 25th December, 1919 at Lucknow. He learned different facets of music from Ustaad Babban Saheb (Harmonium), Ustaad Yusuf Ali (Sitaar), Ustad Umar Ansari (Poetry), Ustad Zhande Khan (Film Music).

Naushad started his career as a musician. Subsequently he became asst. of Mushtaq Hussain , Khemchand Prakash & Manohar Khanna. The first film he signed was KANCHAN (released in 1941)and the debut song was sung by Leela Chitnis. However, the first film released was PREM NAGAR (1949).
