Again not exactly Sarrusophonic, but while buying a Cello for my
eldest son (12), the elderly gentleman we dealt with mentioned that
he thought he recongized my name. Turns out I sat Baritone Sax
(which btw I just bought an SML) while his son was the lead alto in a
couple swing/big band groups.

I mentioned that I was looking for a Sarrusophone and also a Bass
Sax - turns out he knows of a an idle bass sax - waiting with baited
breath for his call this weekend. I had briefly handled this Bass
Sax 25 years ago, but couldn't swing it then... perhaps with luck?!

So far the Sarrusophone search is a dry run - but a couple of the old
timers mentioned that a several of the county "Marine" and "Military"
bands had people playing them years back. Maybe with enough feelers
one will turn up.
