I am a french amateur, playing bassoon (french indeed), member of
an association of wind instruments collectors. Presently, I do not
play and not even possess any sarrusophone, just dreaming of ...

I learned about it when I was a child, reading in an old music
book, dated 1895: "The only used in orchestra is the contrabass ... to
replace contrabassoon, with large avantages." The book belonged to my
grand-mother who was a violonist.

Some of the members of the association are posessing sarrusophone,
and I promoted your discussion group amongs our members. We have a
