hello all.

just a quick note to wish everyone a great end to the year. slow times on
ye olde beat happening list. again i spent most of my time buying and
listening to music from years other than this one however a completely off
the top of my head top 10 would probably go something along the lines of
what follows. as always i would love to see everyone else's.

1. sunglass - playing in a band i absolutely love for the first time in 4
years. the first (and by the looks of things last) release will be jetting
its way to some of you shortly i am waiting on artwork right now (and i'm
making no promises about you liking it as much as i do), but as i already
have copies i will count it as 2003 and probably my top pick of 2004 if i
don't play it to death first.

2. broadcast - haha sound

3. the essex green - the long goodbye

4. the microphones - mt eerie (this could have been last year i get
confussed sometimes, but i know i didn't get my copy until Feb of this year)

5. camera obscura - Underachievers please try harder

6. movietone - the sand and the stars

7. robert wyatt - cuckooland

8. britta phillips and dean wareham - l'avventura

9. the cat's miaow - a kiss and a cuddle/song's for girls to sing (yes i
know they are re-issues and so technically probably don't count but it is
one of my favourite bands of all time so i'm puttin them in)

10. off the top of my head i can't think of number 10 :(
