Peace and blessings this holiday. Labor Day- a celebration of our
work-- may we also celebrate balance in all the aspect of our life.

Do you still feel the change of focus, new cycle as schools start in
September? I do. I’m looking forward to sharing with you some
wonderful and fun opportunities to stay empowered and clear, maintain
balance and stay rejuvenated through voice in these next seasons. You
know, I keep seeing how just a bit of support, technique and positive
singing experiences greatly effect how comfortable we can be sharing
our voices and our authentic being in the world. Your voice is as
apparent as your haircut and says so much more about you. It is worth
taking the time to feel its power, pleasure and authenticity in
speaking or singing. Especially for those of us for whom song and
chant are already a part of our connecting in community.

I'd love it if you can join me - Tuesday classes begin tomorrow,
September 4, and a gospel groove chant choir begins this Thursday,
September 6. You can sign up for this accessible 4 week series, or
drop-in if you need to. Also, I encourage you to join me at a non-
residential sound and singing retreat this friday night and Saturday
and Sunday (with plenty of time for your own processes, creativity,

touches me. Its one reason I love to include the gospel songs in the
Thursday sings- its not to convert anyone to anything, but because in
gospel singing the whole human realm of emotions is welcomed, and
there is such beauty and power in that.

1) Tuesday “Open Heart, Open Voice” Classes –begin September 4
September 4, 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 13,20, 27, and Dec. 4 from 7-8:30pm
Techniques to strengthen and empower your voice for singing and
speaking, along with fun singing in group. Everything changes as we
gain confidence and pleasure in giving voice. New information – some
sounding exercises from chiqung and tai chi, vedic sounds, more in
addition to western warm ups and techiques. All welcome. Full series
is encouraged. Drop-ins also welcome.

2) FALL “INTERFAITH ALL-HARMONY CHANTand GOSPEL GROOVE” CHOIR:
(The name is long but that Vitamin “H” harmony is delish! Songs and
chants in harmony from several traditions. All welcome.

Sunday 11:30-4) NON-RESIDENTIAL AWAKENING VOICE SONG and SILENCE RETREAT
with Gina Salá - (*optional extension Saturday)
Welcome to an opportunity to experience inner spaciousness and Truth
through voice, sound, and movement with Gina Salá. Old limiting ideas
easily melt in this accepting songfield. The time you spend is repaid
richly. Our minds and bodies are refreshed, and enthusiasm and joy
rekindled, as our confidence and ability to listen within grows
throughout the weekend. In the three sessions, we will deepen in
sound practices from east and west to bring support and ease to our
speaking and singing. We will explore our unique, authentic voices,
and see how our voices bring transformation and joy. We will truly be
heard, and play again in sound just for the sheer delight of it.
Elements to be included are: breath, tone, deep listening, techniques
for transforming stage fright, nada yoga, mantra, mudra, finding your
heart song, authentic sounding, cultivating resonance with self and
others, indigenous and cross-cultural chant and song, creative jams
and inspiration. Come as you are. No experience needed. As they say
in Zimbabwe, "If you can speak, you can sing."
