Unexpected we recieved the fine works of a new album from Swedish dark-ambient
master Simon Heaths and his project ATRIUM CARCERI. One of the new darkambient
that has gained a real following in the scene just as the older boys like
Raison d'être. Atrium Carceri however manage to create a complete new sound and
dimension to it all - can be that he is not really from the dark-ambient scene
but more into Lounge, Klezmer, IDM and filmmusic.
MTV has recently also included Atrium Carceri, aswell as :Golgatha: and In
Slaughter Natives on their worldwide Dirty Sanchez series. And more CMI bands
will be included in different episodes.
 
 Finally we've been able to reprint some important backcatalog. I didn't manage
to reprint the backtitles that we announced last time as fast as I hoped for but

3 years in the making, Atrium Carceri is back with another visceral masterpiece
entitled Souyuan.
After careful psychological observeration of test listeners, Simon Heath has
done it again - renewing the genre through careful planning and painstaking
attention to each fragment and detail, however minute. With fresh atmospheres,
and a depth previously unfathomable, Souyuan will amaze initiates and pundits
alike with its complexity and pureness of form. Never before has the artists
innermost recesses been so sublimely conveyed to any medium.
 
Simon, born in 1977, started producing when he early on played around with his
Amiga and a microphone. In the years that have followed, Simon got involved in
numerous projects and developed his knowledge and skills. During the process and
through the years, he has been part of writing 16 albums and additionally many
other tracks on compilations and other albums, released under various names,
touching a broad range of ambient, dub, IDM, psy, folk, medieval, classical and
black ambient. Simon is known for having reached a very high level both in story
telling and production technique.
 
Atrium Carceri has been praised by music critics and embraced by a cult audience
for its depth of atmosphere. As described by one reviewer, "Heath creates a
world where time collapses, where the ancient world of conjured spirits, the
physical limitations of being all too human, and the infinite outreach of
potential futuretech, all coexist.

Finally available again the latest album of Raison d'être, coming in a
beautiful and foilprinted digipak.
Transformation is the key to the psyche. Breath and feeling intertwined is the
given links for the search of inner wisdom and to unlock the hidden inside us.
’Metamorphyses’ is a journey into the deep inner; a drama of the sublime and
trancendental transformation of the psyche through a katabasis ritual of six
transitional stages into a final completion. ’Metamorphyses’ is a key to the
psyche.

Hypnotic, introspective and yet more difficult. As the seventh fullenght album
from raison d’être ’Metamorphyses’ is in many aspects different from
previous works by Peter Andersson. The organic flow and the use of drones has
been extended creating a varied output of both calm/meditative and harsh/intense
sound structures. The transformation in sound is also present in the feelings;
demanding, tempting and deceptive are only a few elements that characterize the

The Italian duo Medusa’s Spell is back with their second album after the
"Mercurial Behaviour" released on Cold Meat in 2006. "Last X hours"is also a
conceptual album, this time following the ten last tragic hours of a woman who
stands accused for witchery. Ten songs, each representing one hour of her last
ten in life, from the moments of the trial, - when her body is completely
exhausted from pain - until her mind resigned to her fate of death. The lyrics
of the first and the last song is a curse! - the true words spoken by a woman
falsely accused of witchery and condemned to death in 1428. The witch of
Medusa’s Spell is however a symbolic woman representing all women condemned as
witches. By infernal torments and torture her mind and tongue slowly converts to
the Devil…and her voice becomes finally the voice of the Devil.  Medusa’s

Founded on a prophecy about the downfall of humanity and the end of the world,
the Norwegian industrial death metal band V:28 set out on a musical journey
through a world in turmoil. Their three albums, NonAnthropogenic, SoulSaviour
and VioLution released by Vendlus Records, constitute the Total Deconstruction
trilogy, where the band dug far into the dark matter of the human mind in search
for the ultimate apocalypse. The burning desire to explore new musical
territories lead to a multitude of interesting collaborations and approaches
within the extreme metal genre. As a result, V:28 has in many ways been a
groundbreaking act in their field.
The idea of doing a remix album was spawned at an early stage in the band's
existence. Carefully selected artists were invited to use V:28 source material
to make their own interpretation of a chosen track. Not only does this release
mark the end of the band, but it also showcases the experimental side of the
band and much of what has been a great source of inspiration for the cinematic
and apocalyptic sound of V:28.  - The Total Reconstruction was born!
 
With the founding member of V:28 being a huge fan of CMI and with many CMI acts
covering the V:28 tracks in fantastic new versions there was no discussion which
label would be more suited releasing this obscure sampler than Cold Meat
Industry.
 
 
Passione Nera - "Research EP" (CMI185 - CD-single / 7" vinyl)

The "Research EP" marks the first offering from the ever-growing Roman outfit
Passione Nera.
 
Originally conceived by Andy in the dying days of 2005, it would not be until
the spring of the following year that the band took its first steps, and
embarked on a journey that would eventually see the project evolve into a
4-piece band (by early 2007). Initially, the songs were stripped-down acoustic
guitar compositions with the occasional addition of piano, accordion or organ.
However, as the band grew and expanded, the songs were redefined and their sound
changed. Today, Passione Nera has evolved from a folk-pop creature into a
fully-fledged chamber-pop ensemble. The band keeps one watery alcoholic eye
fixed on the cinematic tradition, with melodic landscapes that are dusty and
melancholy. These melodious scenes are then wrapped up in lush, orchestrated
songs with acoustic and electric guitars taking the center stage, and
additionally enhanced by a large array of other instruments. It is as if these
songs were written on the backs of 1960s postcards
brought back from some imaginary journey into “Americana”, then bred with
French-pop, cross-fertilized with baroque-pop, and finally molded into a
soundtrack for the broken-hearted, the disenchanted and the misunderstood.


The "Research EP" features appearances by Simone "Hellvis" Salvatori (guest
vocals on "Sinking"), and Piergiorgio "PJ" Ambrosi (additional arrangements and
co-production) of older brothers Spiritual Front, and will be released as
digipak CD-single and limited 7" vinyl.

’Sang Graal’ is an opus magnum, built in symbiotic collaboration during the
last two years by the French masters of martial neo-classic Dawn and Dusk
Entwined and the German Ritual-folk-band :Golgatha: - both formations well know
from their recent albums on CMI. Both bands worked on all tracks together,
combining their styles and forces to create a powerful neo-classical-folk-opera
with occasional glimpses of soundtrack pathos and dark ambience. A wide range of
acoustic instruments was used (guitar, viola, bass guitar, flute, gong, piano,
dulcimer, percussion) and at least three vocalists appear – including Sorakey
from :Golgatha:’s appraised ’Tales of Transgression and Sacrifice’.
Martial tunes like ’The Messiah’ or ’Cross of Lorraine’ and majestic
folk hymns like ’Crusade’ and ’A Seeker Divine’ will rule the darkest
dance floors worldwide, while introspective ballads invite those interested in a
deep listening experience.
’Sang Graal’ is true aural mythology! The title refers to the myth of the
Saint Graal, the ’holy grail’, and the ’sang réal’, the bloodline of
Jesus Christ. The album researches on various levels the different readings of
the grail through the centuries, from an ancient fertility rite to the popular
conspiracy theory.

’In its astral-mythical origins, long before its Christian interpretation, the
Holy Grail is the spring and the magic cauldron of daylight itself – the Sun.
But the Sun has to be cut from the clouds and to be won: Indra in the Indian
myth and Thor in the Germanic myth were the heroes who conquered the cauldron of
the Sun through the Spear of Lightning. Only later this cauldron became the
Christian chalice, in which Joseph of Arimatäa caught the blood of Christ, this
differently ’hot’ essence from the Other Sun…’ Ernst Bloch, The
Principle of Hope  The pagan roots of this myth are once again revealed!  The
digipak cover features unique photos by Birthe Klementowski and photos/artwork

Recorded during 1995 – that most creative of years for Brighter Death Now,
which also produced the much harsher album Innerwar, as well as the final part
of the epic “Great Death” trilogy – Necrose Evangelicum was immediately
received as a new milestone in the genre of “sacred-death-industrial.” In
fact, the album had the most favorable reception of any BDN record, and has
generally been considered the most easily accessible of BDN’s work.
 
This groundbreaking album is nothing short of a sacred death-machine that
relentlessly works itself into the mind with a most obtrusive, and almost
dangerous, insistence. This review from 1996 says it all:   “This is music
created from a place beyond all imaginable Hells... a place that exists only
deep within the macabre mind of its creator, Roger Karmanik. A CD of such
impenetrable darkness, as if the entire world had collapsed into itself!  Where
the inspiration has been drawn from for these recordings can only be speculated,
but suffice it to say, it's not a place one would like to spend eternity!
Tormented voices announce the birth of some unspeakable horror, while heavily
metallic, grinding electronics shudder like the last gasps of a dying machine.
Together, they form a vision so bleak and ghastly it purges both the mind and
soul of everything but the most impure of thoughts. Leave all notions of decency
at the entranceway, for they are not
wanted nor needed here. Only in the final title track, featuring the despondent
orchestrations of Mortiis, will you find solace, but even that is a harbour

In order to once more make this groundbreaking album available, we have gone
back and digitally restored, remastered and remixed the tracks to give them the
facelift they so richly deserve. This new edition of Necrose Evangelicum is
presented in a beautiful foilprinted digipak together with a “live” CD
recorded during the same era. Actually the “live” CD is the recording of a
rehearsal for a concert in Vaasa , Finland , which ended up never taking place!
The permission of the organizers ran out, and the evening came to an end, before

‘Tunes for the wounded’ can be considered a lament. It is a defamatory
