Björn and Sven Jünemann, aka Standeg, are no strangers to the
electro-industrial world. Having been involved in early incarnations of Haujobb,
the Jünemanns helped craft early Haujobb hits such as Homes and Gardens and Eye
Over You and participated in the recordings of the classic albums Homes and
Gardens and Freeze Frame Reality. A few years ago, the ground-breaking label
Dependent Records placed Standeg songs on their influential Septic compilations,
creating a buzz around Standeg unprecidented given the duo’s small output.
UltraHighTechViolet is one of those releases that come along every few years to
sweep us off our feet. Following in the tradition pioneered by the likes of
Lassigue Bendthaus and X Marks the Pedwalk, and continued by Haujobb, Forma
Tadre, and in more recent years Seabound and Headscan, the music of Standeg is
cerebral, unique, and challenging. Tracks like 25 Hours grab you right away with
pulsating rhythms and catchy synthlines, while the slow brooding groove of
Further Dose is perfect for a lazy afternoon and is as psychedelic as it is

ELEGANT MACHINERY "A SOFT EXCHANGE"
If we didn’t know better, we would have sworn that Sweden has to be the
motherland of Synth Pop after listening to this album,. “A Soft Exchange”
marks the return of an icon of this musical genre with a fulminant new album –
and there is hardly a band these days that is living this sound the way Elegant
Machinery do. The two advance singles “Feel The Silence” and “Move” both
catapulted the likeable Swedes into the single charts in their home country and

DEATH IN JUNE "ALL PIGS MUST DIE"
Another in the “Cleanse The Hand That Feeds You” Leprosy Discs series, this
exercise in exorcism is a sonically double edged ritual. Whilst the original
2001 release saw the return of the classic Death In June instrumentation of
acoustic guitars and trumpet, with the addition of accordion by Andreas Ritter
(Forseti), industrial elements also permeate half the album. Out of print for
several years, the reissued CD comes in a foil blocked Softpak. Released on
Nerus and available November 24th, 2008.

DEATH IN JUNE "KAPO!"
The soundtrack to the funeral of New Europa imprisoned by its past, an idea
originally inspired by Douglas P.'s wartime experiences in Croatia between
1991-95. This 1996 collaboration with Richard Leviathan (Strength Through
Joy/Ostara) continues in a similar musical vein first seen on the Scorpion Wind
project released the same year. This is now reissued in a black foil-blocked
Softpak. Released on Neurs and available November 24th, 2008.
