London, on 20th April 2008 - the day after his momentous performance at ULU.
Akita created an astounding and very unique 20-minute track, playing freestyle

Falkenstein's self produced debut-album "Heiliger Wald" gained a lot of praise
in Folk music press. Their 2nd album "Urdarbrunnen" is now released by the

played, strong and dreamingly beautiful album with a rich, varied
instrumentation, even more dense and powerful than the debut album. The musical
range lasts from acoustic ballads over Martial Folk songs to dark fairie tales
about mysticism, paganism and natural rites in the Alpine regions. If
Falkenstein were around 40 years earlier, they would stand in line with bands

The all new album of Herbst9 is a step further into the depths of the Assyrian
and Asian mythologies, using authentic audio and visual fragments of sacrifices,
lamentations, prayers and ancient rituals. The result is a deep labyrinth of
sounds with meditative percussions, ghostly vocal fragments and singings which
melts with detailed and multi-layered tones of various traditional instruments.
All this is constructed around a core of dark and ongoing floating drones
creating an atmosphere of true archaic music which has been developed by Herbst9
to perfection. This soundtrack is the secrecy from the deep and hidden places of
the sacred earth transcending us beyond the real world to the inner realm of

HYPNOZ - 'Breath Of Earth' CD (Zhelezobeton) - £9 / £10 / £11



Hypnoz is a project of Dmitry Zubov, a Moscow musician, who endowed lovers of
post-industrial music with such names as Hum and Staruha Mha. Since 1993 Hypnoz
has released one CD on Russian label Insofar Vapour Bulk, which gathered tracks
from different periods and a couple of very limited editions. The basis of most
of the tracks for "Breath of Earth" was recorded by Dmitry together with Evgeny
Voronovsky (Cisfinitum) during their joint night psychedelic sessions, and this
is evidently felt in their mood. Stylistically this can be called tranquil
electronic ambient with a remarkable experimental touch. Slowly twisting sound
helixes, drawing inside the astral subspaces, pulsating rhythms, cosmic sounds
of old analogue synths. Outsize package. Ltd x 500 copies.





JÄNNERWEIN - 'Abendläuten' CD (Heimatfolk / Steinklang) - £10.50 / £11.50 /

Jännerwein is a brilliant new Folkband from the breathtaking Salzburg
countryside around the holy mount Untersberg, the myserious home of Sturmpercht.
They play their very own style; a mix of old school Folkmusic and Neofolk with
some Martial rhythms, Alpine-Folk and even some medieval elements. Jännerwein
use many traditional alpine instruments, but they also use some electronics,
creating a warm and heimish atmosphere in all their songs. Jännerwein are
solemn with their ancient, sad lyrics about holy (often christian) rituals and
mysteries from the central european Alps. But the feeling you get from listening
to their tunes is similar to the sad songs of the Perchten. For fans of

imperceptibly shifts and contorts, each new shape even more abstract and more

Split release from two US acts: Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation, 5/5/2000) and
Death By A Thousand Cuts. Travis Ryan's four tracks open the disc with an edgy,
paranoid ambience that mixes environmental buzzes and electronic hum with blurry
theremin melodies and hushed buzzsaw tones, evoking the faint but discernible
hum of electricity you feel when standing at the edge of an urban landscape in
the middle of the night. Death By A Thousand Cut's nightmarish free electronic
designs are conjured from noxious bass sinewaves and cloudy keyboard drones,
curling upwards out of metal-on-metal carnage and blasts of laser-beam
effects-pedal violence, and the music becomes strangely beautiful, especially
with the cosmic Troum-meets-Bastard Noise insectoid frequencies of final track

"Early Love Music" the German Folk musician Axel Frank sets a surpassing

heavily involved with Alpine Folk heroes Sturmpercht and found his love in late

Arcana's approach to Neoclassical and symphonic ethno-ambient could well be
defined in the meaning of the word "Arcana" itself: specialised knowledge of
something generally considered a mystery or a secret. On their 6th album,
"Raspail", the powerfully moving music of this Swedish quintet creates a magical
atmosphere which weaves together lush elements familiar to Arcana fans old and
new. Mystery, silence and revealed secrets are interconnected within the 10 new
songs. Lush electronics mix with acoustic guitar, serene piano and intricate
oriental percussions. Warm vocals return to the focus, with obvious comparisons
to Dead Can Dance: a heavenly blend of baritone and soprano courtesy of Peter
Bjärgö and Ann-Mari Thim. In fact, never before has an Arcana album contained
so many vocals giving "Raspail" an emotional touch, a deeper thoughtfulness, a
profound feeling of mysterious vision and a sense of secrets.

Crisis came into existence in the late '70s amidst the British hardcore punk
movement. They took the same energy that came from the youthful, raw anger of
the Oi! movement, but with restrained lyrical phrasing and strict rhythms.
Members include Douglas P. and Tony Wakeford who would later expand upon some of
the Crisis material for their Neofolk group DEATH IN JUNE. Wakeford later went
on to form SOL INVICTUS, whilst Luke Rendall and Lester Jones would later find
involvement in Theatre Of Hate and Sex Gang Children, respectively. This is
Crisis' entire remastered discography from 1978-1980, complete with a 12 page
booklet featuring exclusive photos from Douglas P.'s private archives.

The fourth release from Gruntsplatter builds a more transcendent atmosphere,
weaving together a sustained darkness that conceals the grimy implements of the
taboo nestled in the din. The brooding ambience and cutting frequencies combine

laboratories and hovels of forbidden science where genius and atrocity meet on
level ground. The familiar components of subtle detail, amorphous depth, and
