NADJA / ATAVIST / SATORI TOUR
A million thanks to everyone that worked on, played at and turned up for the
"Infernal Procession" tour, and who made it very memorable and one of the best
times we've ever had! All the bands, promoters, sound guys, venue owners and
especially the audience were all first class, and made it very special, despite
me being roped in by the wonderful ATAVIST guys to provide doom metal vocals in
Coventry and London. Apologies to those that found it a little too much to bear!

Also, thanks to Simon (Fractured Spaces), Andrew and Kate (Radio Black Forest)
for inviting us to DJ at the Aidan Baker show last night - great fun, and thanks
to those that attended.

The first full-length album from French act Aere Aeternus. Some of you will
recognise the name from their tracks on 'The Obsolete View' compilation. The
dominant atmosphere combines a sense of impending insanity with sexual deviancy
and a large dollop of occultism, creating a dark and troubling misanthropic
sojourn that is relatively unique. The final track is probably the most musical,
as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are
present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. The accompanying video of

Airy flutes and choirs hover above sometimes distant, rumbling sound textures,

This is the reissue of a CDR published by Silentes (2005) in an edition of only
120 copies. "Dead Colours" shows the more quite side of MB, with an incredible
dark melanchonic though in vein of David Lynch's atmospheres. This CD is part of
a trilogy entitled "An Absurd Trilogy". Now finally available on CD with
restored artwork by Akifumi Nakajima, MB and Stefano Gentile.

Martin Luiten and Frans de Waard are both from Nijmegen and both part of the
same musical 'scene'. They played together in 2003 when their bands Girlfriends
and Beequeen played a collaborative concert, and the two met on the Sunday
afternoon improvisation concerts. Yet its not been until this year that they
decided to work together, Martin on guitar and electronics and Frans picking the
sound up with his laptop. Five pieces of repeating guitars, swirling electronics

A live recording made in Paradox in Tilburg in October 2007. Over the past 20
years one of the bigger enigma's of 'industrial' music or 'modern musique
concrete' has been THU20. This is a detailled balance between the various
interests of the five players involved: the computer work of Jos Smolders and
Roel Meelkop, the acoustic sound objects of Peter Duimelinks and Frans de Waard
and the analogue electronics of Jacques van Bussel. 'Tilburg' is made up of
various recordings made from the P.A. as well as by the individual players,

All tracks on "Ricochetentrance" were composed, mixed, recorded and designed at
Studio Mecca, Kyoto, Japan, August-October 1998 using only the water as source
material. Although Aube has used water as a source before, here he has taken a
more minimal and rhythmic approach, using both analogue and digital effects. An
exercise in long-running, meditative textures, subtly shaped. Ltd x 1000 copies

Over the years, Michael Gira (Angels Of Light, ex-SWANS etc) has honed his craft
into something more sophisticated without actually having lost sight of the
power, emotional tugs, or even the simplicity of his earlier works. On 'Songs
for a Dog', he has collected ten tracks (mostly culled from releases only
available via his website, plus three unreleased tracks), that catch him in his
purest form. Mostly built around his guitar and voice in a home studio
environment, the songs here expose perfectly how he can function without the
layers of sound he's also often fond of exploring. These songs capture an artist

SOL INVICTUS - 'The Killing Tide (Bonus Edition)' CD (Extremocidente) - £13 /

One of the first Sol Invictus releases, originally released in 1991, where Tony
Wakeford takes inspiration on Nature's basic killing instinct for his Dark Folk
songs. Guest appearances from Colin Potter (Monos) and Karl Blake (Shock Headed
Peters). Now made available again, with bonus material and new artwork, which
includes photographs from Lesley Malone and updated forward by Tony Wakeford.
The CD also includes a new interpretation of "In A Silent Place" as well as
concert recordings. Limited to 888 hand-numbered copies in a luxurious
spot-varnished digifile with printed inner sleeve.






THE HAFLER TRIO - 'Dislocation' CD (Korm Plastics) - £12 / £13 / £14

Another of the 14 H3O reissues on Korm Plastics, this is to be the definitive
handling of the Hafler Trio legacy, completely approved and overseen by the
Hafler Trio personally. "Travel! It's the drug of the common man! Why, it keeps
the wheels of industry flowing to make sure that he has a home to come to,
earned and paid for by his labours! Why dont you, the rich, privileged, indulge
in a journey that (trust me) money can't buy! And send a postcard to your
friends! X marks the spot!" Originally released by Staalplaat as a cassette in
1986 then as a CD in 1990. Presented with all new luxury gatefold packaging,
with opaque wrap and a nice wallet containing a book of maps.

The first in the Hafler Trio reissue series. "...Kill The King reads as a unique
and incredibly personal form of communication through the physicality of sound,
which holds its own peculiar set of of nuances and neologisms. During the
ensuing 70 minutes, McKenzie in occasional collaboration with John Duncan and
Zbigniew Karkowski, recontextualises a huge wealth of synthetic and found sounds
to form the basis of this aural language. Here, data crunched drones are
suspended within an electrified ether, the noxious rasp of a modem nestles
against corroded pulsations, and oxygenated whispers reverberate through and
eerie ambience" [The Wire]. Originally released in 1991 by Staalplaat and Silent
Records, this is one of the most sought after classic Hafler Trio releases.
