work of sole composer, artist and producer Oliver Barrett, working in the live

journey through the urban decay of abandoned factories, scorched landscapes and

industrial revolution in its darkest phases.

JOY OF LIFE & APOPTOSE - 'Warrior Creed' LP (Tesco Organisation) - £18 / £21 /

In 1988 British post punk group Joy of Life released their song 'Warrior Creed'.
20 years later 'Warrior Creed' is back - seen though the eyes of Apoptose. The
voice of Joy of Life leadsinger Gary Carey has matured and the rhythm section is
reinforced by an entire band of drummers, the Fanfarenzug Leipzig. Now the music
sounds even darker. This LP celebrates the return of that classic song. It
features two new interpretations by Apoptose, both sung by Gary Carey, alongside
the original Joy of Life version which has beenunavailable for more than a
decade. The vinyl-only release is limited to 600 copies and is packed in a
deluxe gatefold sleeve with metalic bronze embossing.

For their sixth Naevus album, Londoners Lloyd James and Joanne Owen were joined
by their regular drummer John Murphy (Knifeladder, Death In June). The album
also features contributions from Greg Ferrari (Womb), Joanna Quail (SonVer),
Matt Howden (Sieben; and Arthur Shaw (Cutty Sark). Many of the tracks here have
already been performed live at recent Naevus festival appearancese. However, the
tracks on offer branch out in a range of other directions; existential pop,
murder balladry, slide guitar and lo-fi synths, progressive influences
(Hawkwind, Pink Floyd, etc.) and John Cale-esque piano pounding. Packaged in a
digipak with 12 page booklet.

Dark Folk cnnoisseurs Naevus' fifth album is also the band's first album as a
full four-piece, with Lloyd and Joanne joined on all tracks by Greg Ferrari

STURMPERCHT - 'A Wilde Zeit' CD (Percht) - £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50



"A Wilde Zeit" is an anthology; an early-years collection of rare songs and long
deleted vinyl from the inventors of Alpine Folk music. The CD includes most
songs from early 2003 until late 2005 - all 7" vinyl, songs from the mLP "alpine
Bann- und Segenssprüche" and several compilation tracks, as well as one
unreleased song. Originally released in a limited edition of 100 copies in
wooden case, this CD is now remastered and widely expanded. "A Wilde Zeit" drags
You away into the dark forests around the holy mount Untersberg, with all his
fairies and strange creatures. Many songs tell of Alpine tales and legends from
long-forgotten times. Some songs are martial hymns for mountain trolls, others
are drinking songs for wild hunters and creepy creatures. 6-side digipak with
stunning artwork.

VORTEX - 'Phanopoeia' CD (Tesco Organisation) - £11 / £12 / £13



The German ritual drone project Vortex (aka :Golgatha:) is dedicated to the
British art movement of Vorticism of the early 20th Century (1913-1920). Founded
as an own vision of Futurism by Wyndham Lewis and expressed in the legendary
magazine Blast (1914) Vorticism defined the artist as someone gaining creative
power and inspiration out of the chaotic vortex of creative energy. The name was
introduced by the Vorticist protagonist Ezra Pound who also coined the phrase
'phanopoeia': the idea of creating poetry for all senses. The music of Vortex
pays audiovisual homage to the great Vorticist art. Psychedelic drones, ritual
drums, processed sounds, glimpses of acoustic harmony, and original sound
documents are blended to grant a holistic sensory experience. Vortex transcends
the limits of dark ambient soundtracks on a quest for the unknown.

From beyond the mundane symbolscape, the 2nd album of Aeoga emits aural
phenomena from devouring multi-layered elemental ambience to amorphous and
hallucinatory sequences entrancing one's awareness thoroughly. The fifteen
formations manifest themselves in various forms; bright and luminous helixes
intertwine with shadowed and shapeless non-beings. All in all truly overwhelming
material where acoustic instruments and electronic equipment mingle themselves

slowly unfolding journey of epic proportions, the debut album of Finnish ritual
act Arktau Eos is a challenging, complex work. Born of intense private
musico-magical sessions held in places abandoned by man and further refined in
the temple-laboratory of the duo, it is the distillation of seven arduous months
of work. 'Mirrorion' is the music of stellar light thrown down from the Heaven's
zenith and its eldritch reflections in the depths below, uniting atavistic
elemental noise with serene passages of crystalline, spectral ambience. Comes in

BARDOSENETICCUBE - 'Noosphere' CD (Monochrome Vision) - £10.50 / £11.50 /

This soundpiece is pure improvisation by Russian artist Igor Potsukailo
(Bardoseneticcube) and a laptop, dealing with theory of Russian scientist
Vladimir Vernadsky about collective consciousness, emerging from the interaction
of human minds. The continuous computer-generated music, minimally changing but
reaching maximum concentration, comes as the one long track, designed for your
mind challenge. Potsukailo uses a kind of feedback circuit, adding the elements
of human presence into this music and modifying the energy / information balance
in that powerful field near planet Earth called 'Noosphere'. Ltd x 500 copies.






BELBORN - 'Perchta' 7" (Percht) - £7 / £8 / £9

Dedicated to the Goddess Perchta, this 4-track release is based on recordings of
traditional Perchtenläufe and nature. Different than most other music from
Belborn this release (as one would expect being on Steinklang’s ‘Bavarian’
side-label), is more in the way of traditional German folk music. Belborn lead
us on an acoustic journey through strange rites and ancient folkish rituals in
the mysterious Rauhnacht. Ltd x only 365 hand-numbered copies on nice, thick
vinyl!






BLOOD AXIS - 'The Gospel Of Inhumanity' CD (Storm) - £11 / £12 / £13

The debut album from Blood Axis and an absolute milestone in military-verged
Neoclassical music! A blend of martial industrial rhythms, classical parts with
traditional instruments (almost medieval in places) and the strong voice of
Michael Moynihan. Contains the definitive version of 'Reign I Forever' -

CONCRESCENCE - 'Obscured By The Dark Years' CD (Ahnstern)

Concrescence includes all today’s most wanted music styles: beautiful
Folk-ballads, sometimes with a strong medieval touch, Martial drums and
trumpets, Neoclassical hymns and heartbreaking pagan lyrics, sung by perfect
female and male voices. Concrescence is a collection of early, unreleased and
lost songs from the archive of ‘The Thieves Of Impressions’. Maybe only the
elders amongst you will remember this most beautiful Dark-Folk band from the
early 90’s, lead by Ales Pickar, who was one of the 2 founders of the
cult-label Ant-Zen. All recordings on Concrescence were made in 1994/95.






DEATH IN JUNE - 'Burial' CD (Leprosy Discs) - £11 / £12 / £13

Burial was originally released as an LP in 1984 and was the first Death in June
record released via Leprosy Discs. The personnel at the time was: Douglas P.,
Tony Wakeford and Patrick Leagas. After this record, Wakeford left the band. A
CD version was released for the first time in 1991 and has remained sold out now
for many, many years. Amongst the tracks on this record you'll find a lot of
classics and a complete set of brilliant live tracks. Another piece of the
puzzle to fill the gaps in the DIJ back catalogue. Simply a must! Comes in nice
foil-blocked digipak with embossed images.






DER BLUTHARSCH - 'Everything Is Alright' CD (WKN) - £11.50 / £12.50 / £13.50

"Everything Is Alright!" is a sort of follow-up to the 4CD-Set "Fire Danger
Season" and as such it compiles rare tracks from 7" singles, remixes and more,
recorded between 2002 and today - martial industrial, neofolk, apocalyptic folk,
neofolk 'n' cabaret. More than just an essential anthology for collectors, this
also makes an excellent introduction to beginners! Presented in a digipak with
spot varnishing.






HALO MANASH - 'Am Kha Astrie' CD (Aural Hypnox) - £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

"Am Kha Astrie", a work of heliotropic, elemental ambient, is an opening, an
awakening, a summoning, a crossing of thresholds. After their previous oneiric
and minimal album, "Am Kha Astrie" sees Halo Manash re-integrate a more diverse
instrumentation and a multiplicity of soundsources to create their work, which
consists of seven interrelated tracks. Archaic elemental drums, bones and
spiraling animal horns merge with various metal percussions, chimes,
wind-instruments, voices and a multitude of other instruments to create a deep,
earthly and yet celestially-bound opus. "Am Kha Astrie" is a massive and
sometimes ominous work, a primal experience of coming-into-being, with all the
terror, ecstasy and divine awe that it implies. Hand finished cruciform folder.

HALO MANASH - 'Language Of The Red Goats' CD (Aural Hypnox)

"Language of Red Goats "is a complete work in itself, but can also be viewed as
the first facet of a tripartite series of works that are part of one holistic
creation - three faces of the same being. More akin to a primitive field
recording in the realm of oneirotropic exploration, than an actual album, the
work consists of one lengthy tripartite soundscape. Utilising only gongs, bells,
metal bowls and wind instruments, as well as flocks of birds, the work is in
contrast to earlier more refined works that feature a wide multiplicity of
instruments and soundsources. "Language of Red Goats" is a bare, primitive and
sometimes raw aural landscape, and yet nonetheless achieves a rare subliminal
intensity and an edge of otherwordly luminosity. Hand finished cruciform folder.

IN GOWAN RING - 'Exists And Entrances' 2 x CD (Ahnstern) - £15 / £16 / £17

"Exists & Entrances" is a retrospective through the years 1994 to 2003. All 40
songs have never been released officially before, only the artist himself gave
away some personal copies. On several songs Jon Michael B'Eirth performs with
Michael Moynihan & Annabel Lee (Blood Axis), with Markus Wolff (Waldteufel) and
other friends around his magical circle of Folk freaks. Besides several
traditional songs, this compilation also includes coverversions from songs by
great 60's/70's Progressive Folk artists and songwriters, like The Incredible
String Band, Strawbs, Vashti Bunyan, Nick Drake, as well as cover-versions from
Psychic TV, The Legendary Pink Dots, Brian Castillo (Jarboe) and 17 Pygmies.
