Re: My Introduction...
There are usually a good number of people at the vigil. Shannon is
not forgotten by his family and fans. Through the year, there are
frequent visitors as well. Besides his family, often there are fans
who visit. Some make a visit on a regular basis and others when they
are passing through on I 65. I imagine that our stores have the same
amount of Blind Melon merchandise as most in other places. But there
are some very special things to see when you are here. Such as the
picture of Shannon on a local record store in the Levee area of West
Lafayette, where he grew up and where he went to school. Most local
people have fond memories of Shannon and will share when asked. I
have never heard anyone say a bad thing about him at all. I just saw
the Soup guitar music displayed prominently in our local music
store. But I think that it should be displayed that way in any music
store. What has everyone on the list noticed about the availabilty
of Blind Melon merchandise in their areas?
There are a lot of things people do to remember Shannon when they
visit. Play his music on their guitars, listen to it on a boombox,
light candles and/or incense, pray and talk to him. Some leave
special mementos and flowers at the grave. So his grave is always
nicely decorated.
I guess I have rambled on long enough.
Anyone else care to chime in?
