I always identified with the "And I'll close my eyes really really tight and
I'll make you all go away" line from Soup. I don't identify so much with the
suicidal reference of it but it always makes me think that no matter what kind
of bad stuff happens I can always escape somehow. I own me. Blind Melon is
good for the soul, it has a kind of, melancholy hopefullness quality that speaks
to me. My name is Dan, I live in Ontario, I never got to see them Live, and,
um, since I've been learning to play guitar this last year, I have noticed how
many layers some of their songs have, its very intricate and they are all
talented musicians.
When I lived in Vancouver I used to go down to Pidgeon Park where Shannon
did some community service, I think, for some drug-related charges and get high
and think about how maybe HE sat on this ratty bench once lol. He mentions
Pidgeon Park in one of his songs too, can't remember which one though, I'm so
bad with names.
