Melonheads are gearing up for this years Shannon Hoon Vigil 2005!
The vigil is held annually on the Saturday closest to Shannon's
actual birthday, September 26. It is put on by Shannon's mother Nel,
his grandmother Vernie, and family and is open to the public, taking
place in the Dayton/Fairfield Cemetary in Dayton, IN. This year is
likely to be the largest vigil to date, with friends and fans,
expected to be in the hundreds, coming from all over the world, to
join in celebrating Shannon's life, for his Birthday, on Saturday,
September 24, 2005. Also, please come and join his friends and
family as they host the 3rd Annual - Hoon Vigil Show, Vigilstock 3 -
Shannon Hoon Rocks, celebrating the life and music of Shannon Hoon,
on the following day, Sunday, September 25, in Lafayette, IN at
Riehle Bro's Beach Club. The show features bands from all over that
are inspired by Shannon and Blind Melon music. Headlining the show
will be host band, Speaker Mind, featuring Jena Kraus, who sang on
Mouthful Of Cavities, from Blind Melon's "Soup" Album, and also
toured with Blind Melon. Also performing, Shannon's nieces, Hope and
Grace Q, Bobby Herrold Acoustic Jam, Jeff Waltz Acoustic, Memories
Garden, The Straw Dogs, The Jugtown Pirates, The Planetary Blues
Band, and Steeleto (feat. Barry Koch former drummer of Styff
Kytten). Also appearing, special guest Emcee, Toes! The cost will
be $5 at the door, with doors opening at 3:33 p.m. It's All Ages, 21
and over Drink with ID (Please Drink Responsibly).
