Fellow singers,
Excitement is building as our 24th Annual Convention is now only a little
over 2 weeks away, May 30-31! We are expecting visitors from all over the
country and various committees are working hard to properly welcome them and
get ready for the big weekend.
Can you host an out-of-town guest for the Convention? I know many of you
have already arranged to host singers who have stayed with you in the past,
but if not the case yet with you, we need your help! Our housing
co-ordinator is Anita Shaperd, 773-604-5365. Please call her and discuss
with her how you might be able to help with hosting!
The Convention itself is a joyous and exciting time, but brings to mind the
saying, "many hands make light work." To make the singing the exciting
event that it is requires help from many, not just a few. That awesome
sound we make at Ida Noyes is supported by a lot of work behind the scenes.
Also, a ride needed: Singer Johanna Fabke from Madison is coming for
Saturday's session. She needs to return to Madison via a bus that leaves
O'hare [sic] at 4:00 pm on Saturday. Can someone (maybe someone from the nw
'burbs?) volunteer to leave the singing Saturday 10 min early (at 2:50pm)
and drop Johanna off at O'hare?? If so pls email me.
Thanks,
Ted Mercer
