Shillelagh Law is an acoustic Pan-Celtic stable-band, founded in 1997, and based in Missouri. “Pan-Celtic” means we cover a range of Celtic musical traditions instead of just Irish or Scottish. The music of any country where a Celts once ruled, or rebelled, is fair game. “Stable-band” is due to the fact that most of our music predates the term “Garage.” Unlike many “girl” groups, Shillelagh Law does not limit our repertoire to “pretty” songs. We sing a gamut of music that covers everything from drinking songs to war songs, and, love songs to hymns.
Shillelagh Law strives for authenticity in our period music. But, on occasion, we’ve been known to throw out some mean Simon Garfunkel. This, with our irreverent stage presence, gives audiences an experience they don’t soon forget.
The group consists of Kristin Hacker-Hickman (vocals, percussion), Karin Hacker (bodhran, spoons, sickle, vocals), Sarah Hacker (whistles, percussion, vocals) and Jennie Nichols (vocals, tambourine). Amongst us we have over 100 years of performing experience.
