Randy will be speaking on: Creating Musical Moments
You’ve got a few good songs…that should be enough, right?, unfortunately, “a few
good songs doth not a great writer make.” Great writers create a series of
musical moments that make up a catalog and a legacy. Songs that capture unique
moments in time: in their lives and in ours. So whether you’re a
singer/songwriter or a full band, this workshop can help you create powerful and
memorable songs. We work on melody, lyric, arrangement, song structure and how
to create moments that engage people and form an emotional connection your
listeners. We show you things that help your audience experience your songs with
you. Come and explore strategies to enrich your songs and evolve your art. Don’t
be content to just be a good writer. Become a great one.

Who is Randy Young?
Randy's recording and production skills have earned him a multi-platinum selling
CD and several top charting singles. He holds a diploma in composing and
arranging from the world renowned Grove School of music. Randy also teaches
songwriting workshops and is launching a new website songwritingstrategies.com .
He also currently plays in the band Cherry Suede.
 
Come to regular Songsalive! workshops and develop collaborations, meet industry
guests, showcase and workshop your music for feedback in a professional and
supportive environment. Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to
share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the
songwriting communities we have created around the world.
 
The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop where writers
present one song each - either on tape, CD or live - followed by a guest
speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and
network. Our workshops often feature guest speakers representing all facets of
the industry from A&R, publishers, successful producers, CD production and
distribution execs and, of course, writers and composer who share their ideas,
tips & techniques on all aspects of the songwriting craft.
 
 
The workshops are open to all songwriters and music composers of all levels and
music genres and you don't have to be a Songsalive! member to attend.
