Singers in the SoCall area sought to record original songs - singing to tracks already laid or about to be, needing only the featured vocal. The backing tracks (bed) and leadsheet to each song can be emailed to practice with. Training in musical theatre or experienced with the American Songbook helpful.
Finalized tracks will be presented to A&R people, upcoming recording artists, management companies, music supervisors, etc. There is no upfront pay, and artists will be asked to sign a release. However, hard copy cd of the tracks will be theirs to use, as well as having their name attached wherever a song with their voice is presented. What this means is promotion for the singer along with promotion of the song. Singers will also share in any fees earned by way of tracks containing their voices.
The tracks, jazz influenced, orchestrally arranged, rhythmically expansive and various, are high quality, commercially-viable work by professional musicians.
Vocalists interested are asked to email samples of their singing.
