*** ONE FRIDAY EACH MONTH - CALL FOR INFO ***
Shamanic Drumming Group - The Journey of Recovery
One Friday each month, 7pm, $15 per person.
The group will focus on healing, and will follow the format of "core sha-
manism" as taught by Michael Harner (The Way of the Shaman - Foundation
for Shamanic Studies).
"Join us in the creation of a sacred space so that we may explore the realms
of the spirit and receive knowledge and power as they relate to our deepest
recovery questions. We will use the drumbeat as it has been practiced for
thousands of years to facilitate the shamanic journey & build relationships
with our compassionate, helping spirits. Bring a drum or rattle if you
have one (not necessary if you don’t), a bandana to cover your eyes, and
the questions whose answers have been hidden to you."
Coordinated by Randal Lyons of Boynton Beach, licensed Doctor of Oriental
Medicine, specializing in addictions (12 years clean himself); student of
Michael Harner; shamanic counselor.

SPECIAL DRUM CIRCLE - OF INTEREST TO ALL THREE COUNTIES
*** SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22ND ***
Tequesta Drum Circle (around a huge bonfire!) - Winter Solstice
Every Solstice & Equinox - at the start of each season, 7pm till midnight,
$5 entrance fee per adult (kids under 10 free if accompanied by an adult),
fee goes toward event costs (insurance, hiring park rangers for the night,
etc.) - any money remaining is donated to the citizen support organization
Friends of Birch State Park, Inc.
* Includes: a roaring bonfire; a big (optional) potluck feast - if you
plan to partake, please bring a dish or drink that would be enough
for yourself; an Earth-centered ceremony to welcome in the season (at
about 10pm). Performers are very welcome - fire-dancers/spinners/breath-
ers will have a special area set aside and must show proof of insurance.
* "People of all life-affirming spiritual and philosophical paths are in-
vited to come together under the beautiful canopy of the sky, in a
preserved 'native Florida coastal habitat' It's an opportunity to
align our thoughts and energies with our own core of being, with the
seasonal shifts on our planet (Earth), with the energy effects of our
star (the Sun), and with the powers of the universe that form all
things (which you may call God/Goddess, Spirit, Nature, laws of evo-
lution, etc.). The Tequesta (tuh-kes-tuh) Drum Circle is named after
one of the ancient tribes who inhabited lands around SE Florida prior
to European and Seminole arrival - and gives us an opportunity to re-
member that legacy. Ceremonial dress is welcomed, but not required."
"As darkness falls the bonfire will be lit once again at the Tequesta
Circle and the drumming will commence. This is a family-oriented cele-
bration for those who hold the importance of our relationship to our
home planet, the Earth. Come be a part of the celebration, look up
into the night sky, breathe, and remember our intrinsic connection to
both planet and universe."
"Every 90 days or so our planet transits a key point on its journey
around our parent Star which shifts the balance of light entering into
our world. This light continually feeds a tremendously complex array
of living systems that have co-evolved for billions of years. The shift
creates a cascading ebb and flow of cycles in each hemisphere creating
what we know as Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, and inspires us to
observe these natural transits of our planet as Sacred Days."
* Photography: Please respect people; don't take photos without permission.
* Editor's note: This is one of the biggest and best drum circles in our
area. It only happens four times each year (at the changes of season -
the solstices and equinoxes), bringing together drummers and dancers
from four counties for one big unified celebration. Don't miss it!
You don't have to be a good dancer or drummer - everyone is lovingly
welcomed and appreciated. You can drum (or play any percussion gadget
that you have), dance, or just watch and socialize.
* Hosted by Moon Path Circle, Inc., http://moonpathcircle.org/index.htm,
SpelCastor <spelcastor@...>, Mark 954-655-7182, Sophia

*** SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH ***
November - Palm Beach Bellydance Meetup
1. POTLUCK LUNCH: 12:30-1:30PM
Bring something to share (main course, beverage, dessert)
2. SEMINAR - TRICKS FOR CONQUERING STAGE FRIGHT: 1:30-3:00PM
We've all been there before: we're about to go on stage and we get very
nervous. We know our dance like the back of our hand, but for some reason
we still get jittery. Perhaps we get concerned about being judged; perhaps
we lose our confidence in our skill and our radiance; perhaps someone hurt
our feelings; perhaps that 'inner critic' in our head starts putting us
down; perhaps we're just having a bad day... In any case, stage-fright
rears its ugly head. It's nothing to be embarrassed about; they say that
Frank Sinatra (who'd performed for decades in front of tens of millions of
people), even in his senior years still threw up before every live perfor-
mance! The question is - how do we conquer our fear and remember our power?
How do we go on, and give our audience a beautiful show that we can be
proud of?
In this hands-on, practical seminar we'll learn simple, easy, proven tech-
niques to overcome fear, reconnect with our life flow, and give our great
gifts. We'll explore breath, movements, sound, attention, and intention.
And we'll come away with skills that we can apply anytime, anywhere that
we get nervous - skills that will quickly remove our constrictions and re-
store our natural power, radiance, and flow - whether in dance performance,
in business, in relationship, or in life.
Presented by Dr. Michael Dean Goodman: counselor, educator, internationally-
acclaimed workshop leader, author; Director of PARA - The Center for Realiza-
tion, in Boca Raton FL., and Co-Director of the PremYoga Center in West Palm
Beach FL. Besides decades of educational 'performing' (speaking, teaching,
and leading large groups), Michael has also performed artistically hundreds
of times (piano, singing, drumming, dancing, acting), for tens of thousands
of people, and knows stage-fright first hand!
