A. SPECIAL SPIRITUAL EVENTS (BLATANT PLUG FOR EVENTS DEAR TO MY HEART)
*************************************************************************
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH, 7:30pm
(the 2nd Monday of every month)
TURIYA MEDITATION (TM): FREE INTRODUCTORY TALKS
Attend this free talk, on either evening. Hear about the practical and
spiritual results that effortless meditation can bring about, and see a
review of the powerful scientific research verifying these results. Find
out how to learn this ancient, yet modern technique, to use as a tool to
improve your life.
If you've ever wondered about meditation, if you've ever tried some form
of meditation that left you unsatisfied or frustrated, if you've ever
longed to wake up and remember your core Reality, if you've ever wanted
to unfold the 90% of our potential that lies dormant within us - you must
attend one of these talks, given by an expert, initiated into the ancient
vedic/yogic tradition of Masters, who has trained thousands of people over
the past 35 years!
Deep meditation unfolds the full 200% potential of life - 100% inner
peace & freedom, plus 100% outer dynamism, intelligence, creativity,
love, health, success, & happiness. This is the meditation described
by Maharishi Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras (the guidebook for yoga) -
the simple, natural, effortless meditation that brings fulfillment to
the practice of yoga, that establishes samadhi at the core of life, and
that brings (1) increased clarity of mind and intelligence, (2) better
health, physical coordination, and reversal of stress-related aging,
(3) more loving, compassionate, giving behavior, and deeper relation-
ships, (4) and the very real foundation for a peaceful society.
Modern life can be a very pressured and stressful experience; this me-
ditation is the most effective stress-melting technology in the world.
Held at the PremYoga Center, 1095 N. Military Tr., West Palm Beach
Just west of the Palm Beach Airport, 1 block north of Belvedere, on the
west side of Military Tr., across from Wal-Mart.

*** THURSDAY-TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH-19TH ***
Sunsport Gardens Mid-Winter Naturist Festival
Six days of fun, growth, community. Choose from over 240 activities -
New Age experiential workshops (health, personal growth, arts, relation-
ship, ecology, etc.), plus meetings about naturist/nudist activism. In
the evenings there will be inspiring musical performances, fire-perform-
ers, DJ'd partner dances, naturist videos, and bonfire drum circles (on
the 14th through 18th, 9pm-midnight). They also offer vendor booths,
an 87-degree olympic swimming pool, a huge hottub, a sauna, buffet food
service, fitness center, wi-fi internet access, fishing & kayaking ponds,
a children's playground, a jungle nature trail, 40 acres of lush tropical
vegetation, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes, and petanque. You can see
their entire Festival line-up of events by going to their website below.
Cost: $40 festival registration fee, plus $18/day grounds fee (admission)
per adult. Camping is $14/night (tenting - no hook-ups), $27/night (RV
with water/electric). Furnished tents are available for rent. A limited
number of cabins are available - please inquire. There are also nearby
B&B's and motels. On-site meals: $6 breakfast, $8 lunch, $13 dinner - or
$142 for all meals.
Editor's notes:
(a) Their Festival drum circles are great - with hundreds of people
around the huge bonfire - lots of good drummers, radiant dancers, fire
performers... The entire Festival is wonderful - plan to attend if you
can!
(b) Unfortunately, the Sunsport Gardens administration chooses to charge
loyal local drummers and dancers, who want to attend only the evening
drum circles and help make them more successful, the same price as some-
one attending the Festival for the entire day - a $40 one time Festival
registration fee, and an $18 per day admission fee. If you attended all
5 evening drum circles, you'd pay $130, or $26 each! If you attend only
one evening drum circle, you'd pay $58! Obviously, the drum circles make
sense if you are already attending this fabulous festival - but do not
make sense if you are just coming for the drum circles. Let them know if
this policy disturbs you.
(c) The regular weekly Friday night drum circle at Sunsport is obviously
replaced, for this weekend only, by these Festival activities.
(d) Sunsport is a clothing-optional community, a family naturist resort
founded in 1965. Nudity is completely optional (except at the pool/hot-
tub/sauna area); at the drum circles some drummers/dancers remain clothed,
but some nudity will be present; the atmosphere is very respectful.
(e) Drumming occurs around a big bonfire outdoors in the special drum cir-
cle clearing by the lake. Normally, in rainy weather, they drum inside a
building next to the pool. But during the Festival, that building is in
use each evening, so it's not clear what their rain alternative is.

etc.) - any money remaining is donated to the citizen support organization
Friends of Birch State Park, Inc.
* Includes: a roaring bonfire; a big (optional) potluck feast - if you
plan to partake, please bring a dish or drink that would be enough
for yourself; an Earth-centered ceremony to welcome in the season (at
about 10pm). Performers are very welcome - fire-dancers/spinners/breath-
ers will have a special area set aside and must show proof of insurance.
* "People of all life-affirming spiritual and philosophical paths are in-
vited to come together under the beautiful canopy of the sky, in a
preserved 'native Florida coastal habitat' It's an opportunity to
align our thoughts and energies with our own core of being, with the
seasonal shifts on our planet (Earth), with the energy effects of our
star (the Sun), and with the powers of the universe that form all
things (which you may call God/Goddess, Spirit, Nature, laws of evo-
lution, etc.). The Tequesta (tuh-kes-tuh) Drum Circle is named after
one of the ancient tribes who inhabited lands around SE Florida prior
to European and Seminole arrival - and gives us an opportunity to re-
member that legacy. Ceremonial dress is welcomed, but not required."
"This is a family-oriented celebration for those who hold the impor-
tance of our relationship to our home planet, the Earth. Come be a
part of the celebration, look up into the night sky, breathe, and re-
member our intrinsic connection to both planet and universe."
"Every 90 days or so our planet transits a key point on its journey
around our parent Star which shifts the balance of light entering into
our world. This light continually feeds a tremendously complex array
of living systems that have co-evolved for billions of years. The shift
creates a cascading ebb and flow of cycles in each hemisphere creating
what we know as Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, and inspires us to
observe these natural transits of our planet as Sacred Days."
* Photography:
Please respect people. Do not take photos without permission!
* Editor's note: This is one of the biggest and best drum circles in our
area. It only happens four times each year (at the changes of season -
the solstices and equinoxes), bringing together drummers and dancers
from four counties for one big unified celebration. Don't miss it!
You don't have to be a good dancer or drummer - everyone is lovingly
welcomed and appreciated. You can drum (or play any percussion gadget
that you have), dance, or just watch and socialize.
* Hosted by Moon Path Circle, Inc., http://moonpathcircle.org/index.htm,

Dashama Gordon leads a guided trance dance to liberate your mind, body,
and spirit. Dance to live drumming and tribal/reggae dance beats by
Xavier Hawk.
"We begin in meditation, becoming grounded in who and where we are in the
present moment. We move through a fluid yoga series to open the joints,
muscles and tendons, get the blood circulating, and connect to our higher
selves. The music tempo raises and so do we. We begin to find freedom
in connection to the breath. Energy circulating throughout the room con-
nects souls and our minds are liberated. We peak in a full on ecstatic
trance dance as we make love to our spirits. We climax internally as we
truly find wholeness, unity, and bliss. The music guides us down the
backside of our internal wave as we gradually find our place on the earth
beneath us. We finish as one pulsating spirit family, connecting to the
same source, the same oneness, liberated and without judgment, with no
mind we are guided to our favorite galaxy as we connect to the inner light
& love that is ever present, continually healing us, guiding our way home."
