5. The moon will appear to move from slightly north of west, to south east.

Full Moon Drum Circle - Palm Beach County (Lake Worth Beach)

Monthly on the full Moon, 8-11pm (or later - till they close the park),
free (except for parking meters)

WE'VE BEEN HAVING 50-80 PEOPLE - DRUMMERS, DANCERS, AND FIRE-PERFORMERS.
THIS HAS BECOME A WONDERFUL CELEBRATION - NOT TO BE MISSED!

Held: On the beach just north of the Lake Worth Ocean Pier, at the back
of the park, Lake Ave. at A1A, Lake Worth FL

The beach & park officially close at 11pm, although rarely does anyone
come around to enforce that. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach
during the cooler months - dress accordingly. If it rains, or gets too
windy, we drum/dance under the huge picnic shelter (pavilion) in the
same park, 100 yds. west of the beach - you drive past it on your left
after you've entered the park.

Directions:

* From I-95:
- Southbound
1. Exit 10th Ave. North - eastbound
2. Turn right (south) on Dixie Hwy (US1) or Federal Hwy.
3. Turn left (east) on Lake Ave.
4. See 5-10 below
- Northbound
1. Exit 6th Ave. South - eastbound
2. Turn left (north) on Dixie Hwy (US1) or Federal Hwy.
3. Turn right (east) on Lake Ave.
4. See 5-10 below

* From the Florida Turnpike:
1. Exit Lake Worth Rd. east
2. Eventually it turns into Lake Ave.
3. See 5-10 below

* In every case:
5. Cross the Intercoastal Waterway going east
6. Cross A1A
7. Enter the park & bear right (the road makes a large counterclock-
wise circle)
8. Go all the way around the back, and just past the Ocean Pier
9. Park between the pier and the 1st lifeguard station to the north
10. Parking costs $1/hr. till midnight - pay at the central meters
& put the receipt on your dashboard. Parking tickets cost $20-25.

4. Go 1 mile north of the Juno Beach fishing pier (or 2 miles south
of Indiantown Rd.) - at boardwalk #11 (numbers are on the shower
poles)
5. Look for tiki torches on the beach to your right.

Full Moon Drum Circle - On the Beach

Monthly on the full moon, 8pm (or Moonrise) till 1am, free

Established 1995. There's a 15-minute Pagan full moon ritual at 10pm.
Remember, it can be chilly on the beach during the cooler months -
dress accordingly. Public restrooms available. "No Alcohol - No Drugs -
No Fire! - or we risk losing this location!"

Held: on the beach, just north of the Pompano Beach Pier, 222 N. Pompano
Beach Blvd. (2 blocks north of Atlantic Blvd.), Pompano Beach FL.
Take the walking path to the beach just north of the Fisherman's Wharf
(pier). Free parking at the lot across the street to the west.
In case of rain, they're under the pavilion north of the pier.

Full Moon Drum Circle - On the Beach

Monthly on the night of the full moon
Time: (there is some controversy) - some say that it starts at 9:30 or
10pm, others say 8 or 8:30pm. It continues till "very late", and is
free. Note: it's starting earlier now that Daylight Savings Time has
ended. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach during the cooler months -
dress accordingly.

Held at:
THERE IS ONGOING DEBATE WHERE THIS CIRCLE WILL BE HELD - at 85th St.,
75th/76th St., 10th St., etc. - in each case just east of Collins Ave.
(A1A) on the beach.
For some time, until November 2007, this drum circle used to be at the
85th St. beach. But the park security guards at the beach parking en-
trance have been cracking down on keeping people out of the park after
sundown (the posted closing hour). The postern gate at 85th St. has been
welded shut and the gates locked after sundown. Local drummers assumed
that the 81st St. gates would be shut too. In the last few months of
2007, police interrupted and closed down the circle. Also, several peo-
ple were arrested for substance use by undercover policemen on the beach
itself in October. So the drumming community has been discussing and
experimenting with where to go; as a result, the location has been ten-
uous, decided at the last minute, with different groups of drummers/
dancers showing up at different locations on the same night. For the
most up-to-date info on where they plan to gather this month, go to the
website/discussion group below.

[Note: Gene Shapiro sent out an e-mail suggesting that everyone gather at
76th St., "pending removal by the local gestapo (hopefully not until very
late)". He also said: "call me for the location of our indoor alternate

Some good drummers come the night BEFORE the full moon to avoid the chaos
of the full moon drum circle. Remember, it can be chilly on the beach
during the cooler months - dress accordingly.

Full Moon Party - Tobacco Road Drum Circle & Music Jam

Drum circle starting at midnight; $5 cover charge, but free if you re-
gister on their website for a "musicians' card" (good for free admission
every night of the week). In case of rain they put up a cover over the
outdoor patio.

"A party in honor of south Florida's community of musicians. Featuring
live music (open mic and jam sessions), a drum circle, and food/drink
specials." This is a new full Moon circle that already attracts a circle
of drummers and 2 fire-dancers.
